Hi all. As per request of several other players, I am posting here some lists that I have compiled, have found compiled and some other miscellaneous information helpful to complete the entire quest and all subquests and mini quests at the Winter Palace. The information here is collected from various places on the web.

Find 15 Caprice coins.

These coins can only be found by using the search function when in very close proximity. The 15 coins can be found in the following locations:

Palace Garden - In the West storage closet. (Make sure you obtain this coin before entering the palace for the first time because you will not have access to the palace garden again, unless you fight the assassin at the end of the mission)
Hall of Heroes - On the east side of the large statue down the stairs from the door to the trophy room.
Guest Quarters - On the floor in the room with Duke Germain.
Grand Apartments - In the westernmost room, on a table on the South wall.
Grand Apartments - Outside the upstairs bedroom on the railing. (Up the NE stairs in the courtyard then up a ladder)
Grand Apartments - On a pillow in a dorm room with 5 beds. (main level, middle bed, along the north wall)
Grand Ballroom - On the railing overlooking the ballroom in the middle on the east side. (Only after you investigate the servant's quarters and speak to the Grand Duchess)
Grand Ballroom - On the floor in the NW corner of the ballroom. (Only after you investigate the servant's quarters and speak to the Grand Duchess)
Vestibule - On the floor near the railing. (Only after you investigate the servant's quarters and speak to the Grand Duchess)
Trophy Room - On the floor in front of the stuffed nugs.
Guest Garden (through Lower Garden Hall door, requires 3 Halla statuettes to open) - On a bench across the way from the 3 Council members.
Guest Quarters - On the floor near the guards guarding the caved-in entrance to the ballroom. (Only after you investigate the servant's quarters and speak to the Grand Duchess)
Guest Quarters - On the railing overlooking the fountain in the upper garden, on the left after you climb up, almost immediately above the Halla door.
Royal Quarters - On a chest next to the Empress's bed.
Royal Quarters - On a table in a room full of tables. (accessed through a window on the North end of the courtyard balconies.
Throwing the coins into the fountain in the guest garden gives you +1 Court Approval each.

Finding all 15 coins nets you 200 influence.

Tossing all 15 coins into the fountain nets you an additional 200 influence. (Make sure you do this before the final confrontation in the Royal Quarters as you will not be able to return to the garden afterwards.)

Find 10 Halla Statuettes

These statues can only be found by using the search function when in proximity to the statues. They are used to open various doors within the palace. (Different doors require different quantities of statuettes to open, and the statues are consumed when used to open the doors)

The quest is to find 10 statuettes, but there are at least 11 in the palace. (Which are not enough to open every available door in the palace, so choose wisely)

The statues can be found in the following locations:

Palace Garden on the patio up the stairs East of the palace gate, above the Eastern Storage door.
Guest Garden - On the eatern veranda of the upper garden overlooking the coin fountain.
Servant's Quarters - In the rafters of the kitchen. (Jump off the table to get it)
Servant's Quarters - In the garden outside the servant's quarters.
Grand Apartments - In the upstairs bedroom. (Up the NE stairs in the courtyard then up a ladder)
Grand Apartments - Left conspicuously in the open in a corridor guarded by 6 Venatori. (Where you meet Ambassador Briala)
Gaspard's Office - Off the trophy room, on Gaspard's desk.
Royal Quarters - In a bedroom on an end table in front of a roaring fireplace (turn right after you enter, first room on the right).
Royal Quarters - In another bedroom on a chest by the window (the room where you rescue Briala's agent).
Jardin de Reverie (Royal Quarters) - Down some stairs in front of a couple of book shelves.
Jardin de Reverie (Royal Quarters) - On the floor in a room full of tables. (Accessible through a window on the North section of the courtyard balconies.)

Trivia Edit
To get the possibility of all endings for this quest, you need five Hallas to open the Empress secret bedroom.
The Halla in the kitchen of the Servants Quarters. The fastest way to get the Halla and the Codex without wasting time is to jump on the edge of the table and jump up in the air from there. Pause mid-air with STRG or your assigned pause button and right-click the item to pick it up. Using other ways, like jumping on boxes to get up there, will take longer.

The 30 secrets can be found by eavesdropping (continue attempts until successful), finding secret documents with the search ability, or talking directly to people.

The Dragon Age Wikia article is very helpful as well, here it is...

As I said before, all that info is from the web, some of the pages I found them in are no longer available, so none of that is mine, I just found all very helpful.

Thank you very much for posting this. I would have dearly loved to find them all, but thanks to that ridiculous timer punishing you for exploring I likely never will. Still, it's nice to know where I might have found them if I wasn't forced into a panicked rush.

The timer can be worked around, believe me. The only time it gets a little bad is during the fight scenes. But you can complete the fight scenes without doing any searching, and come back to search around afterwards. Especially when you meet Briala, you definitely don't have enough time, but this way I managed to keep my 100% in the end.

No, you have to bookmark it. Try clicking "follow this topic" at the upper right hand corner of the thread. I'll try to find those milestones again. Not having any luck so far, the pages seem to have disappeared entirely. Might need to make them again from scratch.

Actually, they are listed.

Go to your profile, and below your avatar you can see several tabs, third one is Likes. When you click on it, you'll see your own posts that other people liked. Just above the first post and under "Find content" button you should see two other buttons: "Given" and "Received". Click on the given and you'll see posts you liked.

I can't tell you precisely where, but there's a balcony off the royal wing that's empty except for a coinpurse, and I think you regain some court approval there.  I was trying to keep it as high as possible while running around in a panic, and every time I went back, I regained another point.  Unless some kind fluke of glitches worked in my favor, for once.

The balcony is one of the doors off the courtyard where you close the rift. There are only 2 doors you can open. One leads to the Jardins des Reveries (sp?) and the other to that balcony.
