Basically I prefer to keep to one weapon on my loadouts, with the exception of something like the demolisher keeping the weight down to spam abilities is kind of what I like to go for, especially as I favour more biotic characters. I have mostly been using the arc pistol or collector smg, but I was wondering about the acolyte and whether or not it is suitable as a single weapon, in videos and on the forums the acolyte seems like a very well respected weapon but I don't often see people using them all that much online in silver or the odd gold match I have played (maybe because of the lag inaccuracies and its lack of range?), how does it fair against health and armour for instance?

Also I was wondering about that stats of some of these weapons - I call them hidden properties but in actual fact they are stated in their respective info page but what this game doesn't do a very good job at is informing you of their exact stats. the collector smg for instance is apparently good against armour, but to what extent? I have seen the odd post listing figures etc, where are they getting this info?

This is the sheet for all the weapons in ME3 that provides actual numbers, which includes modifiers against shields, barriers, and armour.

There is also a thread on hidden properties of abilities you can find here

Sinful used to have that weapon sheet always in front of him back in the day. He practically has every number memorized by now. To Sinful, BSNers like Cyonan are revered just as much as me.

I did a GI AcLOLyte Gold solo against Cerberus. Very useful, but the darn thing doesn't hold much spare ammo.

Thermal Clip Gear is the answer. Especially on a GI since he does not require the most popular Gear as Geth Scanner and Grenade Capacity. So it doesn't matter what Gear you slap on a GI. Might as well make it Thermal Clip or Barrage Gear.

I hated the Executioner before, but now I like it as a single weapon on the Huntress. Pocket sniper rifle.

The Acolyte is good on the Human Adept. I usually carry an SMG as backup, but almost never use it.

The acolyte is pretty good on any biotic user. Light weight and gets rid of shields incredibly quickly.

Acolyte is viable as a single weapon on several characters. N7 Fury, Flamer Vorchas, Geth Trooper are some that come to mind.  It's all I ever use on the Fury and Trooper, and they are both platinum viable.

Edit:  Oh yeah, and the N7 Slayer.

Just to add: sort of the key point here being that the Acolyte is incredibly good against shields and barriers but ineffective against armor, so the kits that can most easily get away with having the Acolyte only (without a sidearm that's better vs. armor) are the ones who have powers that are very good against armor (Flamer, biotics, Phase Disruptor specc'd for armor damage, etc.).
