To sum up what the issue is, I've an Audio/Video stutter that does little but be rather annoying.  The install went fine, I'm on the Cerebus network, all is hunky dorey, all but this video/audio issue.  Now, this happened with Mass Effect 1 AND 2 so it's a consistent issue.  To be honest, I've not seen it with any other game, as far as I recall.

Anywho, here are the stats you've asked me for:

1: Mass Effect 2 (and, to a lesser degree, 1)
a) Really, it's both games.
B) Collectors Edition Disk, purchased from EBGames yesterday
c) MassEffect2.exe version 1.00

2: System Details
a) Processor: Intel® Core™2 CPU          6420  @ 2.13GHz
Clock Speed: 2127 MHz
Physical Memory: 3.49GB
Display Adapter: NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT
VRam: 512MB
Driver Version: 190.62 (not sure if it's the most recent; NVidia's driver updates are down)
Sound Adapter: Speakers (High Definition Audio Device)
Driver Version: 6.0.6002.18005
B) Operating System: Microsoft® Windows Vista™ Home Premium  Service Pack 2 (6.0.6002)
DirectX Version: DirectX 10.0  (Mar2009) or later

3: Problem Details
a) As I said above, it's a video/audio stutter that occurs every 1-1.5 seconds, most notably during cinematics and dialog between NPC's and the player party.  When I'm wandering around just chilling out or in combat, no issues whatsoever.
B) Nature?  Seems to be something involving my video chugging - far as I can guess - but I've got more than the minimum, and other then my processors, I'm above the recommended too.
c) Stated that above
d) Anywhere that I get into cinematics and conversations.  If it occurs at other times, I definitely don't notice.
e) Honestly, it's only during cinematics and conversations, so the step seems to be triggering some of the most basic game events.

I really hope this is something fixable rather than a processing issue, because honestly, I can't really afford to shell out for a brand new motherboard and processor set right now :P

I had this issue with ME1.

Found that the problem was my Realtek HD Audio drivers (High Definition Audio Device). All I had to do was to update these drivers directly from Realtek's own website: http://www.realtek.com.tw/

If this doesn't work, let me know - I'll try and re-create the issue on my own setup.

- Just noticed the post by low8all. Kind of says what I wanted to say...

The only codecs that I have video-wise that I can recall are the Matroska files (for MKV video files) and DivX. Removing those would seriously inconvenience my ability to watch videos... Are there any other methods?

Also, my Audio Drivers are up to date, still got the same issue.

Edit:  I consider just wiping my comp and installing Windows 7, then reinstalling Mass Effect 2 again :P  I really don't want to, but honestly a full format tends to fix everything...
