That's what she says when your Warden did follow her through the Eluvian. She's referring to the fact he didn't join her until Kieran was a year or so old, then left to seek a cure a year or two before the beginning of DAI. You could probably headcannon it that way, then just avoid some of the conversation options with Morrigan in which she refers to him romantically, but you probably can't avoid them entirely.
