I'm thinking of having my mage Hawke romance Anders but I might side with the templars in the end. I hear that if you side with them he cuts off the relationship? ( sorry haven't played the game since it first came out so I don't quite remember the outcome). If I do will the relationship still carry over to Dragon Age: Inquisition? Will he show up with Hawke? A simple yes or no answer will do as I have yet to even play Inquisition and would like to keep things as spoiler free as possible. Thanks

My info could be outdated, but I've read that Anders will stay on the templar choice if he's fully rivalmanced. It sounds like the friendship path ends the relationship.

 

And as for DAI, no, he will not show up with Hawke. The relationship does get acknowledged.

Thank you for the quick answer. I should also add that Anders approval is in friendship and not rivalry.
If I choose to go with the mages will he then show up with Hawke in DA:I?

No, none of the DA2 romances show up with Hawke in DAI. But they are all mentioned/acknowledged. Depending on your choices, Hawke will have different things to say about Anders. Just make sure you set up the Keep with your world state.
