Just popped in my taskbar a minute or two ago. Did anyone else get the notification inviting you to reserve a copy of Windows 10?

Yes, and I am treating it with suspicion until I know a lot more. Careful, it may not be from Microsoft. I'm thinking Malware. Better safe than sorry. From what I've gathered, it's Microsoft's aggressive marketing campaign which is done so poorly as to make everyone paranoid because of it.

I got it to, I think it's the real deal. I don't do much that would get me malware.

Same. Windows OS' are finicky. They can be good, the can be bad, they can be Vista.
I like free stuff, but I don't want to install something I don't know if it sucks or not.

I'm going to wait and see if it is the second coming of windows 8 or not. I like what I've got now.

Can't be worse than the malware called windows 8 that's already on my laptop.

The thing is Windows 8 is a spectacular bit of bad design.
They put what I think is a phone interface into a desktop environment and not only that an interface designed mainly for touch screens which not too many every day users would have access to. It's like they got so far into their project they could not back out and had to just go with it..
I am somewhat hopeful in regards to Windows 10.

Honestly, 8.0 felt like a port. Specifically, it felt like a desktop OS that was ported to mobile and then ported back to desktop. Because of that, it had desktop bits running in the background of a mobile frontend which you had to 'run' like a mobile app, and mobile bits that were lazily ported to work alongside the desktop bits that worked nothing like each other. It was a mess.
With Win10, I think and hope Microsoft got the message; don't try to force mobile and desktop bits to work with each other, instead make a single OS that behaves differently on different devices.

...... I commented something about it on my twitter. A local Microsoft twitter account spotted my comment and then "Are you excited?"....."Windows 10 is the best Windows OS yet :)"
me : *psycho eyes*
I still reserve the free update. They already have the abomination that was Win 8 and Win Vista. At least I got the freebies.

Nope. Nothing for me yet.
And you guys know how it is with MS OS, one good, one crap, one good, one crap. Win7 was good, Win8 was terrible, Win10 is going to be good again. It's a universal law.

A friend told me that Windows 9 could not work because of Windows 95 & 98 and I don't recall the full technical explanation, but if they really wanted to do it couldn't they just of named it Windows Nine?
