You don't want to play DAI on the xbox 360 friend.

Ignore the unhelpful remarks from those who clearly see themselves superior to those people who own current gen consoles. (while xb360 may not be pretty it's plays well and has no messy control issues just saiyan) anyhoo to answer your question there is no On Demand version of DAI apparently it breaks MS download limit cos it;s too big or something

Ignore this person. It's worth it to wait until you have a current gen system (the 360 is not a current gen system) or a PC that can run the game (and there are no messy control issues if you play PC with a controller, which is what I do). The game is ugly and broken on old gen systems, because they are simply not powerful enough to run it. You'll just ruin your experience if you play the game that way.

Technically, it depends on one thing only: Is the game on multiple discs which need swapping at play time? If so, GoD can't handle it. GoD can handle single-disc (DVD) games and multi-disc games where the content on the extra discs must be installed to a storage device (HDD or USB stick). For example, there is a GoD version of GTA V, which takes all of 2 discs (15 GB+). The play disc doesn't have to be installed, but the other one does. Both can be installed, and it works better when they're installed to two separate devices (more I/O bandwidth). However, ME 2 and ME 3 never got GoD releases, because they come on 2 discs each, and require swapping during play.

If they play games, then they'll be getting a new one eventually. I would just suggest they wait until they do to play DAI, because it's a disgrace on old gen consoles.

Don't buy it for Old Gen, it is an absolute disgrace. Check the old-fen master thread for a rundown on the un-fixed issues.

I personally do not feel superior at all and am giving this person advice based on my own experience... The old consoles look and play terribly, I play on PC where I had lots of issues but most are dealt with now so I'd recommend either PC if yours is within the requirements or current gen consoles.

I think you might be able to download it as a DLC. If not now, then eventually. Most games are available for download on the 360. Just bing "Dragon Age Inquisition". You would still have to pay for the game, however. I'm not sure if it would cost less, but if not, then I wouldn't bother. Inquisition takes up enough space on your console as it is. Any more and you might not have room to play any other games.

Consoles have very seldom been backward compatible. I don't know why people keep expecting that. Modern TVs have multiple inputs too, so it's not like you have to give one up to use another one.
I have no problem with you playing on the 360, mind you. It was my go-to system for the better part of a decade, and I still use it. But if compatibility is what you're waiting for, you're going to be stuck for a long time waiting.
BTW, the last system update increased the external-drive capacity to 2 TB per drive, with 2 drives possible. Vast amount of space for Gen-7 games.

I expect that because they called it an "all in one entertainment system".

By the same token, I didn't expect to run Genesis games on my Saturn.
Eventually, you need to upgrade. If you want backwards compatibility for all this stuff, play on PC.

The 360 was, in a limited fashion. It supported emulation for many of the more popular original Xbox games, but was not back compatible across the board. As were the early models of the PS3, although they dropped the back compatibility in later models.
Generally, Nintendo handhelds are to some extent as well, although only to the previous iteration of the hardware it seems (so, 3DS will play DS games, the DS had a Gameboy Advance cartridge slot, etc). And the Wii played Gamecube games.

Later, cheaper revisions of the Wii dropped support for GC games. The same was true of the PS3 support for PS2 games. The same was true of DS support for GBA games--but I'm not going to get into portables.
Here's a list of consoles that were never backward compatible:
SNES
N64
Gamecube
Genesis/Megadrive
Saturn
Dreamcast
Xbox 360 (sorry, but emulations and ports don't qualify as compatibility)
Xbox One
PS4
The list of consoles that are fully BC in all hardware versions:
PS2
WiiU

Mm, no. I think I mentioned both of those as special cases. They launched with BC, but later dropped it. (The latest versions of these consoles dropped hardware support for their predecessors.)

Aren't the newest ps3's still BC with PS1 games?

Do you think other people can afford a new console... I think not.
The problem in a nutshell is that Inquisition was not designed for Generation 7. Of course it's possible to program it competently for the 360. (GTA V is my usual evidence.) But it wasn't. It was designed with PCs and Gen 8 in mind, and then poorly scaled down to Gen 7. Like it or not, the new normal is Gen 8. They simply aren't going to spend the time, effort and money to make new games work properly on the last generation of consoles. That's as much reality as whether you can afford a new console or not.
