After all the flack being thrown around here,

THANK YOU BIOWARE TEAM!

Yes, granted the game has some issues, one I'll mention in a minute. But I guess if I was trying to put out one of the most ambitious games in history I might have had a couple things slip through the cracks too, because I'm HUMAN. When so many studios are cranking out "here are your guns, now run around and blow stuff up", these guys have poured thousands of hours into scripting, design, plot, and all else to make this artwork of a game.

The introduction and prologue had me literally glued to the edge of my chair, with my jaw dropped for most of it. Yes, their are some problems, but I'm only a few hours in and it's already an incredible experience. So thanks.

There are two major problems I've come across playing. First, the text is FAR too small. We don't all have 60" televisions. And I don't think ME2 (or 3, or any game) should REQUIRE that type of hardware, as many of us simply can't afford it. The fact is, the text is too small to read on a 32" screen, which is a real shame, as the codex has a lot to do with the game. Even a lot of the text choices on the wheel are impossible to make out and you end up having to just take a random shot, and if that's not what you wanted to say, reload and try another option. You're really missing out on A LOT of the story, and the game play is hindered big-time. This really needs a fix. Is there an option I'm missing that fixes this? If not, I think it should be a high priority to release a DLC pack that increases text size. Hopefully possible for all in-game text. Having to re-load a save 4 times for each conversation because you can't read the options may actually stop me from playing this game. This is a major disaster, one of the best games ever released, and many people won't be able to play it because the text is illegible. Please respond Bioware.

The second is the map. In ME1 the maps were clear, you could pan around and zoom. In ME2 they are beautiful, and unless I'm missing something, near useless. This is compounded by the illegible text, but even that aside they are cluttered, small, and very difficult to use. Am I missing something?

Thanks again for possibly the best game series ever released, and I look forward very much to your answer on the text issue.

Lol you said it. That's my only issue too, but not only is it small it's the color choice. I can't wear any white armor or have anything glowing or relatively bright in the background because I can't see the white text on the white surface. A different text color perhaps too?

I'm only a few hours into the game myself, but that is my biggest issue with it too, so far. I keep having to get up off the couch and glue my face to the screen in order to make out the text. Didn't have such problems with Mass Effect 1 and Dragon Age Origins. I thought maybe my eyesight was going bad or something...

I have been squatting right in front of my 32 inch tv to read text and the maps, don't know how pc users are downing it.

Easyh.

it's not small on our screens
I think it's an XboX360 in combo with an normal ( SD?) TV.

I'm playing Mass Effect 2 on the PC with a 24 inch widescreen on 1980x1020 full aa x 16 and the text is large enough to read it's absolutly no problem.

If you have an HD tv connected to your 360, then maybe it's an issue that can be fixed from bioware's side?

I hope for you console users it will be fixed because as mentiond above the codex is a majoer part of the game.

It's not just small TV's that are hard to see. I went home last night to play the opening of the game on my parent's 54" (if I remember correctly) big screen TV, instead of at my dorm, (and this big screen TV is fairly old; it is not HD or flatscreen) and I had a terrible time trying to read all of the text.

Otherwise, I think it is an incredible game so far, minus the slow speed of the scanning cursor for planets.
