If we're gonna start talking about all kinds of vehicles, I want those fighters the Alliance had at the end of ME3. Someone make another dogfighting/Wing Commander game, please. :(

That said, as much as I like the Hammerhead, I agree it needed specific maps tailored for it. I wish ME2 had more of them. I especially wish it had more of the puzzle/platformer variety, like the one you played through when first getting the Hammerhead. Only I wish they increased in complexity.

I am hoping that Disney will re-make the old Tie Fighter and X-wing games to take full advantage of modern top end computer rigs.  Those games were so fun, and we are close to being able to make those games nearly movie-like.

And try to leave consoles out of another good genre like Space Sims, RTS etc.? Great! (sarcasm)

I like them both, Both were fun, Even if the Mako's physics were a little bit .... Challenging. But i still like it.

You could still have dog fighting on a console. The Ace Combat series pulled it off.

But it's still not space combat :(

As of yet I still have to pull my 360 out of the closset for air combat, luckilly X1 will be getting Elite Dangerouse soon-ish but I fear it'll be overrun by PvP-ers for the first month or 2 if it's marketing campaign doesn't change. I think those people will come to hate this game fairly quick. Regardless though, ED will not by a combat game like Star Wars Rogue Squadron, T.C.'s H.A.W.X etc.

I heard it's a Space Trucker game.

Which... I could see myself wasting time with. Always wanted to be a space trucker. I just don't want to deal with screwed up economies from RMT (probably more of a problem with the PC world.. might not happen on X1).

It's been re-balanced and now bounty hunting a mercenary type work is much more realistically paying, though good traders always make more. The economy is universal on console & pc, don't know what "RMT" is though.

Real money trading... buying creds/resources from Korean slavedrivers. :P Just screws up inflation... everything gets expensive when things get farmed on that level.

My impression, as I said in my previous post, is that the Batmobile from the upcoming Arkham Knight game will show exactly this combination.

I would love to see something Freelancer-like in ME (the freelancer mouse controls would go very well with ME's shooting gameplay, I think). I am just not sure if it isn't too ambitious since I wouldn't want that feature to overshadow the core run, gun & talk gameplay of Mass Effect. The ballance between all elements would have to be just right.

So yea, dog fights would be cool. So far, only Urz was allowed to do them in ME and that's not fair. :)

Fun fact: enemies only aim at the nose of the Mako. If you conceal it behind a rock or something, the enemies will endlessly aim at the cover point while you shoot at your leisure. It's pretty ridiculous.

So technically you can play the Mako just like the Hammerhead. I am so glad I didn't know that back when I actually bothered to play UNC missions.

The Mako is meant for combat. Which is why it possesses barriers, armor plating, and a secondary weapon; the Hammerhead is meant for exploring. Which is why it is faster, more maneuverable, and possesses a scanner.

The sad part is we had to use vehicles out of their element. In Mass Effect 1 we did more exploring -- which would have been perfect for the Hammerhead. I could have easily flew over a mountain or valley and scanned the resources. In Mass Effect 2 I had to combat Geth armored units with little dummy rockets, no barriers, or armor.

I didn't play ME3 so I don't know if the Hammerhead was in it and if its controls changed but the Hammerhead was a pain in the *ss to drive X)
I wanted a real plane/ship that actually fly; instead i just spammed the jump key so I wouldn't crash ._.
I'd think with their futuristic technology, they would have created a mini-combatship or a more efficient mean of transport X)
Didn't find exploration fun in ME1, because the maps were pretty empty. I(the coward in me) liked the near-invincibility though~

But would that be fun? It's like those MMOs where they add flying mounts (haven't played any myself, but from what I've heard) and it allegedly diminishes the game world by making any kind of landscape irrelevant. Mountain range? No problem, fly over it. A sudden chasm? No problem, fly over it. Stream of molten lava? No problem, fly over it. I know a lot of people hate how the Mako handles, but if the controls were improved on (as I think is safe to assume), won't that likely be more fun? You'd be interacting with the environment in a way you'd never have to if you could just fly everywhere.

I just don't get this: "the Hammerhead was hard to control." The thing was amazingly responsive.

Yes, TOO responsive, on many occasions.

How many times did I have to use the jets to get the vehicle right-side-up just because I sped over some small rock on the ground?

Like every single person who ever loved the Mako, I am a fan of ME1.  It isn't elegant.  It sure looks cool, though.  It can handle some stupid impossible terrain - the stuff that makes you grit your teeth.

It can get you anywhere you need to be.  It got me to the Prothean Sphere.  It got me to Ilos.  Ilos, people - do you remember how that felt?  That is the Magic that I want back.

It got us to the Conduit.

If it can get you to the Citadel from Ilos and die in the process, but keep you safe - THAT my friends - that machine was your friend.  It had heart.

And don't even pretend that you had no issues at all on the Prothean Skyway.  I wondered what was on that lower bridge, and went for it.  You know the sound I am talking about.  Critical Mission Failure.

That's not as bad as me getting a Mission Failure for touching the water at Virmire.

edit: Hammerhead would never do that :D

Actually, The first time i drove the Mako was on Feros and i pressed the "A" too hard when i was starting to drive because the thing wouldn't turn.... And that didn't end well. :D

We all have those moments.  They sucked, and yet they were great.  That is why we remember them.
