Conveniently this explains how she survived the ice shards.

Because she is secretly Diane and used Heavy Metal.

Also explains why the ice broke to begin with.

That means tiny Elizabeth is somewhere in that rack?

Meliodas is off point.

Should have been somewhere harassing.

Also I can't like your post.

But that doesn't matter.

Been liking yo' stuff all day.

Well I really meant you're taking your time to discuss something when you could be doing something else.

So it's nice.

Do you not want people to read your comments without brainfarts?

Hahah I never said that.

I said you're telling people how they're supposedly thinking.

Like some sort of psychic or whatever.1

Yeah.

It's called playing the game and deductive reasoning from playing said game.

Deductive reasoning is totally viable to build your case, by the way.

Also.

There's no criticism going on here, I'm just handing out my critique.

Criticism would imply that I actually disprove of their changes when I've stated I don't give af since I liked it.

But I can still see Riven's POV.

Being serious has lead to no where.

I'm really just simplifying stuff.

I like to do that; not as an insult to your own intelligence.2

But to help a multi-tasking dude at 3:30am.

Reading Light Novels about Wolves and stuff, yo.

It also helps make the mood lighter.

I hate discussions with a dense atmosphere.

#1: That's actually what's happening here.

#2: It's not that, It's that I'm not that great at socializing and most of the times I don't know what you mean. And It's 03:40 A.M. in here too. Being dead serious and discussions are inseparable to me. Like this quote here:

Do you not want people to read your comments without brainfarts?

I don't get what you're trying to say.

#1 Well whatever. It's more annoying running around in circles than you actually doing it.

#2 I'm not dead-on with meetin' and greetin' people too but I still know my slang.

Besides, I don't really class the whole gaming thing as a serious discussion.

Politics, ethnicity, sociology... all that stuff.

Y'know... the conversations I'm too dense to talk about.

That's serious.

I don't get what you're trying to say.

I'm saying that the way you write is pretty much an alien language. And that's coming from somebody who loves his books and could read and read until my eyes popped out.

Like the whole "Necessities and Compromises" thing. Was that some sort of drop-kick theory that you invented? What the fcuk is that supposed to mean anyway? (Yes you explained, don't answer.)

I don't know man, it's like... you're trying too hard... but you ain't, because this sounds like it's always been the way you've written.

You sort of remind me of Gouda from Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2ndGIG

Sort of. Not entirely, but it's like turning 1+1 into 5 minus four time five divided by 5 plus two minus one.

It's the same answer but it's like you accidentally like to turn something very simple into something very complicated.

It comes off as awkward.

That's why I can't discuss with you, or don't bother. Pseudo-intellectuality kind of grates on me when users like Chris can write eight thousand words clearly and concisely with as much sophistication as is needed without anyone scratching their heads as to what-the-hell-is-he-trying-to-say?

Hell, it might be a flaw in your prose that you just need to correct and aren't really doing it on purpose. I certainly had to cos I used to do the same shyt.

Buthtat'sjustme.

Blegh 4am.

You win.

I can't anymore.

See ya.

I don't get that part very well. Everything i do and say has to have depth, It just comes off naturally to me because i do spend a lot of time thinking. As to why people don't get what I'm trying to say, I have explained that to you before, The connections, I have spoken about that before several times. But, If you really want to continue this, We should do so in PM and let this thread go back on topic.

The Reboot aka previous entry. I was never a fan of series before then, nothing about the game grabbed me at all

I love the reboot to death, one of Top 5 games from last gen. My anticipation for this is peaked

TR (2013) was a little gem.

I played it 3 times, twice on release and once in its Definitive edition.

I'll doubtless give it one more spin later this year.

It was short, but good;

The sort of game you want to 100%.

I'm looking forward to RotTR for more of the same.

I never try to PS1 Tomb Raider games until recently. I got them off PSN awhile back when they were each $1. I got Angel of Darkness for PS2 at a yard sale for $3. Going to give it a try at some point. I really like the Anniversary,Legend and Underworld. Easily my favorite was Tomb Raider(2013).

She's always looking for something...

... TO KILL!!!!

That's not  quite a fair comparison. The original tomb raider, certainly 2 and 3,  did in fact have a much higher body count, but most of the shooting victims were animals. There is in Tomb Raider Anniversary, a commentary by the original writers who state that they wanted to take a different approach to combat and move away from a focus on killing humans. It fit the basic premise, in that Lara Croft was an 'archealogist',  working in environments where contact with humans would be limited. The game designers did run into some political trouble despite this in that Lara ended up killing some animals who were on endangered species lists. I remember snow leopards, gorillas, lions, Lara Croft mirror images, T-rexs and raptors, and bats lots of bats.

There is more shooting in the reboot, but it was also a lot more interesting than in the original three I remember. In the earlier games, Lara had auto-aim, and was able to dodge bullets. Hold trigger, mash jump button. The T-rex and raptors were more challenging but nothing on the level of the reboot.

EDIT  I checked and indeed that is a video published by IGN with no qualifying statements as to the number of animals killed in the original games. That is terrible journalism. If anyone has a Youtube account and knows the previous games, they might want to make a comment there.

Well, I liked the previous game enough for me to be interested in the sequel, unfortunately, I don't own an XBOX.

My main gripe with the previous one, was the dissonance I got from Lara being a scared girl put into a horrible situation in cutscenes, and an indestructible murder machine in gameplay sequences.

Also, wasn't the previous one deemed a "financial disappointment" and they said they barely got their production&marketing costs back, after releasing the game on all 3 platforms? And now they want to achieve success by releasing the sequel (which tend to be bigger, better and more expensive) on a singular platform?

How much is Microsoft paying them for this exclusivity deal I wonder...

It was a moderate success by most standards, but failed to hit expectations. Like it sold over 3 million, but Square were probably expecting something on the level of whatever ridiculous numbers other AAA sales get (tens of millions). edit: I was reading up more. They expected it to be twice as much (6 million) just in the first month alone.

It's nice to see a company talk openly about this stuff though.

I imagine it about the same thing Sony paid Konami and Capcom for Silent Hills and Street Fighter 5(though the latter game being cancelled) lets not forget Sony hopping on the exclusive DLC market hard in worst ways than MS ever did (I'm looking at you Destiny)

On to Lara herself, the whole complaint about her emotions is very...much a nonfactor imo, She broke down over her 1st animal kill and 1st human kill, that enough I think. Pretty sure the message of "Everything here is out to kill you, came across pretty clear"

Everytime I see this complaint I can only think of one thing from a hilarious movie. Did you really want this amount of hesitation and drama over every cut and bullet

The point is not about hesitation. It's about entire gameplay focus being on combat.

Taking cutscenes and how the game introduces the protagonist into consideration, this should have been a stealth/puzzle game with minimal shooting. Then all of the emotions it's trying to convey through cutscenes would not be lost.

The point is, that the game makes it abundantly clear from the beginning, that Lara is no warrior - just a woman thrown into an unpleasant situation. But in gameplay segments she tears apart waves of strong, well equipped brutes with ease. And while that makes sense in other games (Mass Effect's Shepard being a supersoldier, Booker DeWitt from Bioshock Infinite being a trained thug with criminal past etc.) it makes no sense here, as Lara is pictured just as a curious archeologist who's never held a gun in her hand.

Well, if you take a look at the comics there's one in particular where a friend of Lara becomes scared of her because Lara seems to enjoy putting her life in danger and beating up thugs. Probably the reason why she's seeing a shrink in that other teaser. Kinda similar to what Mycroft tells Watson in the first season (starts at 2 minutes):

How great would it be if she ended up going just bat-shyt insane at the end of this game?

By the looks of it, she's some sort of adrenaline junkie, a la Walter White minus the arrogance and absolute 0-fcuks given to the dangers his profession comes with for those around him.

I'm actually asking people to stop to sexually objectify women and to focus on the game as a whole, On the lore. That's what this thread was created for.
