People get reported for saying Lara Croft is hot now...

On a gaming site?

Actually, I say report away. I'm really curious what the moderators think of this. This is bizarre.

Just for your information, I reported something like that early on when this thread was created and BioWareMod05 thankfully took care of it.

Not political rights, Cultural rights. People tend to mistake the two.

Yeah, what rights do women not have here in the first world?

A bunch. They are not equally portrayed in the media and are heavily sexually objectifed in TV commercials for example. They're being taken for granted and considered weak because of their gender. They're being constantly told that they should stay in the Kitchen and that it's their rightful place and being an engineer for example is a job for a man, ... etc. I could go on all night.

None of those things are rights. Of course, you can make anything sound bad when you're overly vague and nondescript about it like you're being. Give me an example of a woman being taken for granted or considered weak because of her gender, or that they shouldn't be engineers because it's a "man's job". I mean a real example with a source, not one you just made up in your head. And I want a real example of real misogyny or sexism, not a random internet troll being an internet troll.

So are men, sex sells.

Speaking of sex sells, look at  pre-reboot Lara Croft.

What was it? I don't believe you yet... or rather, i don't believe anything said about Tomb Raider recently is even remotely banworthy. Maybe this other instance was different.

It's funny that he has a Nick Fury quote in his sig. Wasn't that guy like the original playboy/Bond like character for Marvel. Have you ever seen the old Jim Steranko issues? They objectified women more than this thread. It's up there with Frank Frazetta.

There is a post BioWareMod05 posted on page 1 i think. Check it out. Also, Ask Sim.

You see, That's a problem in itself. That you're ruling out certain common behavior because you want examples. Examples are all around you, You just have to look. Concepts and principles are not. Let me take one example, Jennifer Lawrence was for example paid less than her male co-stars in American Hustle. Anna Kendrick stated that producers only choose actresses after they choose the actors. That the male actors are the first priority and then the female actresses are the second priority. Also, This: From Mad Max: Fury Road press tour

There are a shitload of other examples you or i could find by just easily looking.

What does that have to do with anything? You guys do really hate me so you just wanna say anything that would make me look bad. That quote in my sig is from the Avengers movie, The Nick Fury version in the cinematic universe has nothing wrong with it. Comics had its objectifying art, No one is denying that. Just look at Scarlet Witch's costume.

Yeah, but there are no violations of rights occurring. So there's no real problem at all. Jennifer Lawrence being payed less than another actor in a movie has nothing to do with her being a woman and everything to do with her not being the star of the movie and not having top billing. Anna Kendrick's statement is meaningless in context (assuming it even exists). Mad Max is (and always has been) a predominantly masculine series of over-the-top violence and macho dudebro men kicking the crap out of each other. I very much doubt that Mad Max is high on peoples' lists of things they would associate women with.

Telling me to find examples for myself defeats your entire argument because you can't bare any proof.

Could you be more melodramatic? Nobody hates you (I'm fairly certain that we're all more or less ambivalent towards you), but the things you've said the last few pages have been outlandishly stupid.

Nope. Just one post Sim stated that he wanted to "Lara into her croft". Whatever the hell that means. And about 2 or 3 replies to that statement that weren't, By the way, Made by me.

Oh. It's a stupid joke. I'll say that much. But that's all it is. If that stuff actually bothers you enough to report, fire away I guess. Fight the power.

I'd suggest better coping skills personally. And picking your battles right.

No, It's actually because it's not my kind of thing. I don't think that way and I don't force myself to think in any way. I discuss notions, Ideas, Principles without the whole examples thing since i don't like it. Another reason why I'm telling you to find proof yourself is because it's 05:35 A.M. in here. Another reason why is the cynicism. No matter what i say you're gonna rule out as irrelevant just like you just said. Mad Max: Fury Road is full of women. Anna Kendrick's statement is meaningful and proves Hollywood's sexism and multiple actresses had confirmed Hollywood's misogynistic policies. Whether you want to believe it or not. As for Jen Lawrence, Even the secondary Male actors in the movie were payed more than her. So, That's that.

I'm dismissing what you say because not a single thing you've said thus far is indicative of any sexism or misogyny at all. They all have rational and reasonable explanations.

Umm. I don't think so. I'm curious to know what you'd think of this.

A. It's paparazzi. Being a parasite is part of the job. Provoking the celebrities to come out so you can photograph them is your job as a paparazzo.

B. Yes, but how does this prove that sexism or misogyny is a rampant problem in Hollywood?

See? Typical. You just don't want to admit that there's even a problem, So, You just look for redundant excuses. It's not that, It's one experience to prove that some, If not most men take women for granted and sexually objectify them.

Let me be abundantly clear, That's not the point. The point is that you reduce any potential a character can have to what a character's sex appeal can be. I have already stated that feeling attracted is very normal, The problem is that when people reduce women to what they can be sexually. And that "is" sexual objectification.

theres a difference between trying to look up someones skirt and simply finding someone attractive. Ones basic human attraction, the other is sexual assault.
