All the best ammo types give you base damage increase:

AP IV - 50%

Disruptor IV - 25%

Drill III - 30%

Incendiary IV - 50% and DOT

Phasic III - 15%

Warp IV - 60% and 100% if biotically primed

Cryo and Explosive give you no base damage increase. Would you use Cryo more if it gave you for example 25 - 30% bonus to your weapon damage?

I think that cryo would still be very niche because of the way it works and I would likely still only use it on a few builds that I already use it on. Warp would be better on biotic power kits, drill, AP or incendiary would be better on almost anything else for raw damage, disruptor better on a combo spam build. Cryo needs something else to expand it out of the box, the movement speed reduction needs to be more and be active longer IMO, perhaps increasing force damage versus a target would be interesting as well especially against organics.

Maybe Cryo explosions on chilled targets? Now they have to completely freeze.

Needs some kind of change to have a bigger role. Cryo is the one round that will not steal headshots or weapons medals, so there is that.

I think Cryo Ammo could be a nice all-around ammo if it had a damage bonus that worked against ALL protections.  Maybe like a 10-15-20-25% damage bonus to go along with the armor weakening and slowing.  Don't know what type of ammo to bring?  You can just bring some Cryo Ammo and know that it will be somewhat effective against everything.

What if Cryo IV gave a 30-40% damage boost VS armor and health (depending whether you keep the armor weakening effect) ? With the slowing down effect, plus the possibility to get cryo explosions, then they could be a good alternative to AP rounds, maybe even the first choice with some builds. I'm thinking for example about the Fury and the Valkyrie.

Fine by me, but I was talking about damage vs everything, that other ammo types have.

Imo Cryo ammo should be a pretty equal alternative to Incendiary. So i would think Cryo ammo IV should give a base damage incrase of about 30%, weaken armor, slow enemies down and give Cryo explosions without having the target to fully freeze. Alternatevily, Cryo IV could be the only ammo type that could freeze shieldless Phantoms. I think for a lot of player that would be a god send.  :)

I agree with that, why fire is so superior to ice in ME ?

Amen to damage bonus of 30%, armor weakening and slowing down too. But I think that cryo explosions on chilled targets and freezes on Phantoms would be a little too OP.

Possibly. It is somewhat stupid that you cannot freeze a phantom that is down to her health bar. Those ****** ninja bitches have a little too much going for them. It's like we're going to make up all of these game mechanics but there will be this one enemy that just says **** all that noise I'm gonna do what I want.

Cryo sure needs some extra damage, but also something to make it stand out. Like the slowing effect that sunds great in theory but doesn't do much on the battlefield in the end.

If ME3MP would have more enemies on the map the need for crowd control would be bigger, slowing effect must also work on teleporting Banshees, charging Brutes and slow down the enemies' rate of fire.

Cryo as is is just not good enough compared to all the other ammo types except "explosiv" ammo nor does it have its own niche if you ain't gonna play CS spamming Cryo Soldier all day long.

i would go for a longer slowing effect and a debuff instead of damage increase, maybe 5 - 10 - 15 - 20 %

20 % might be too op though

You mean debuff for all team for 20% like Proxy mine?

If it stacks, then all 4 come out with Cryo and an 80% debuff. Atlas dies instantly after spawning

no stacking for sure, or up to 20 % max. Maybe 2 4 8 12 wld be better

This gives me the will to try an all debuff team :D, what max debuf could U reach ?

It would reach so high, that probably 1 Avenger I shot would kill a possessed Platinum Praetorian on a lvl 1 character with no mods or consumables, not even talking about deadly full-auto

That sums up the design weaknesses of the game in general. To increase the challenge, Bioware breaks or ignores the rules. It's like playing cops and robbers with a five year old: There are no real rules, so, "Nuh-uh, you missed" is always a legitimate dodge.

But they went out of their way and applied a different Cryo effect for Paladin's shields which can freeze Phantoms.

Any of the effects that I think would help Cryo are:

> Give it a base damage increase that works against all defense types

> Damage taken by target increased

> Damage dealt by target reduced

> Target accuracy or rate of fire reduced

As for Explosive Ammo since we're here: Increase radius, remove maximum damage cap, remove delay before explosion, make it not stagger everything, greatly increase damage dealt, cause it to reduce the weapon's rate of fire.

^ I like 1,2 and 4.

Damage dealt by target seems unimportant to me, because there are so many enemies that deal obscene amounts of it, that they are going to 3 shot you anyway even if they deal 20% less.

The only way I would use them is if they made cryo explosions on every thing like snap freeze.

Sinful only uses them on Incinerate power kits (SE, MQE, KroSent). Ever since he spec'ed out of Cryo Ammo for these kits, Sinful finally learned that they aren't that bad any more + help conserve on other more valuable ammo too.

EDIT - they are also great for new manifest players before they start getting their pierce weapon mods since they help with Armour dmg penalty.

It would be neat if it did something totally different, like slow the rate of fire of the enemy, or have a small chance of turning them into snowmen.

Has anyone watched Frozen?

Yeah, but shoot the cow with a Spitfire so she doesn't get hurt.
