The devs have on several occasions mentioned how impressed they were with the Long War mod, some even saying it's the way the game should be played. Yeah, they definately did take some hints from the mod, though I'm not sure if they actually said anything specific regarding that.
Yeah, I've heard similar comments from the developers, which is really cool that they are so involved with the things fans are doing. I like the almost collaborative effort on improving the game. The devs make XCOM:EU/EW and the fans elaborate on their work. The devs then look at what the fans have created and work to build off of that for XCOM 2. I am really excited to see what the fans are going to be able to do with this game now that it has full fledged modding capabilities.
I can't mod to save my life, but the biggest alterations to XCOM that I want to see is:
• Recruitable alien assets for the campaign. Hey, if the world says that we're nothing but terrorists, than I see no reason why we should dismiss that fact. Let me swarm Advent holdings with my Chryssalid pets. ![]()
• A co-op/versus campaign mode. Joining a friend to liberate Earth, or fighting against your buddy as the alien Overlords would be awesome.
• A Mass Effect total conversion mod. Don't forget the recruitable Rachni! ![]()
