Howdy.

I'm wondering if anyone has ever gotten their account reset before?  I'm wanting to do it purely for enjoyment purposes to see how long I could remax a manifest knowing what I know now...

if this is not possible, would I have to re-purchase the game?  And even then, isn't it still tied to your origin account?

^ True. This way when you start missing your maxed manifest, like Sinful right now (hence the his restored XBLA Gold membership as of just a few minutes ago), you can still go back to it.

I have heard that you can request an account reset from Bioware, but last time I heard about it was while the game was still being supported. If you are determined to totally restart instead of just making another account I would try getting into contact with either Bioware or EA perhaps and requesting an account reset. It is very likely permanent so be sure that is the route you want to take.

Thanks for replies... it looks like there is nothing I can do.

I contacted bioware support, and they said they had no way of doing what I requested.  So not a big deal, was just wondering if it was something that could be done w/o too much hassle.

^ It's not hard to create a new email address and just pay the 10$ one time online fee.

On PC you need to buy a new copy of the game. BroJo used to reset accounts by request but he's moved on to DA.

If you're on PC the game is $10 or so online through Origin, and you simply set up another Origin account - all you need is another email address. That way you get the joy of reliving the grind while still being able to play with all the good stuff if you get bored of having no piercing mods at all.

For PC, you have to make another account and repurchase the game again. Deleting your Player Profile save file doesn't work.

If you wait for a sale you can easily get ME3 cheap. I bought the whole trilogy for 10$ during the last holiday sales.

  Howdy person I've never met,

Just do what I do and play as if you're a noob to regain the noob experience.  No need blow 15 big ones to become FasterthanFTL.

Consensus is that after about 80 hours of that new manifest you'll get bored with the new grind and want to go back to your maxed one.

So yeah, make a new account.

For extra style points make it on console/PC (whichever you're not already on) so your aim sucks.

Yes, but the ways to do it are no longer in effect. As someone mentioned earlier, the staff member who used to do it on request is no longer available, and the only other way it could happen (that I know of) would be to run afoul of the ToS (and I'm pretty sure they aren't any staff doing that, either.)

I'm wanting to do it purely for enjoyment purposes to see how long I could remax a manifest knowing what I know now...

I will surmise that your main account is an Origin one. You would need to create a new Origin account, using a new e-mail address. You could then start from scratch on that account.

You shouldn't need to purchase another copy, although the convoluted way digital rights are handled may make it impractical to get around that if you only own a digital copy. The second account would not be associated with the first in any way. It would be considered a separate Origin account under a separate ID.

PS 3 players have the easiest time, by far, creating second accounts, as that's literally all they have to do.

Xbox 360 players get kinda boned, as they have to pay to maintain a second XBL Gold account in order to start a second manifest.

Jeremiah, everything you wrote is accurate except for this part.

Origin makes no distinction between physical and digital copies, as far as it's concerned each is represented by a licence key, and each key can only be associated with a single Origin account. So one does need to purchase another copy (or key).
