CoD & Mortal Kombat haave made use of Freddy, Jason, Predator, Michael Myers, etc. for some fun.
DAIMP could take a hint & do something like this. Some of these weapons would be cool.

I'm saying that other games have done this & it would be cool here.
Example...follow me here...Sword of Omens would be a sword...that looks like, um, the Sword of Omens.
It had a mess of powers in the cartoon. Energy barrage, freeze, immolate, war horn, mind blast...10% chance of one of a list of abilities. Random. Or...totally new powers like the new characters.
Cartoon one can stun too. So, that.
Changes size too, so could be daggers as well.
Blazing sword absolutely has enemy explode on kill.
He-Man's sword can give guard & strength.
More importantly, you'll have some cool looking weapons.

Okay...Voltron is a mighty robot made out of smaller cat robots.
Giant cat person...ridiculous.

How about a set of unique weapons that grow more powerful as you complete certain conditions when using them? For instance:
Weapon name: Pillar of Rage
Stats: 70 Fire Damage, 10% Attack, 15% Bonus Damage to Barriers
Condition 1: Kill X amount of Rage Demons
Bonus 1: Melee attackers have a chance to take fire damage as 150% Weapon Damage per second
Condition 2: Deal X amount of Fire Damage
Bonus 2: +30% Damage to Fire-based Attacks
Condition 3: Kill the Venatori Commander X amount of times
Bonus 3: +20% Attack Damage
I think this would make finishing those prestige challenges more worthwhile. Other conditions could be related to beating a certain difficulty a set number of times, opening a certain number of chests/pots, reviving a certain number of allies, etc.

I want a gun. I'll just take a AR15 with a Beowulf upper.
100% armor penetration
100% critical chance.
Whatever I shoot is either coming off or blowing out.

I feel like DA, or Bioware games in general, aren't really the gimmicky meta lulz type games to have this kind of stuff. I realize they have a giant spoon, and a wheel of cheese for a shield as it is, but generally their "for the luls" is related to their franchises/worlds. Or Biowares cheese obsession.

I would like some new weapons in DA MP, but I'd prefer for them not to be copies of weapons in other games/movies/shows/etc.
Spidey Staff. 20% chance to cast Web on hit.
You don't want to know where my mind went when I read that.... ![]()

Why not? Mixing pretend things too much to handle?

Maces, Flails and Spears. Also all kinds of blades on a stick, but I don't see it happen - the animations are more ability centered and I actually would rather see more innovative abilities than rather weapons. More love for blunt weapons would be nice, though.

I'm still not sure I follow. So, you just want cameo weapon appearances from cartoons, like He-Man's Sword, or Thor's Hammer from Marvel?

I'm not sure what's unclear. I don't want cameo appearances of weapons...I want to have sight beyond freaking sight. I want to have the mother f***ing power.
I did a lot of research on this yesterday.
Research: Watched He-Man/She-Ra movie with my daughter because cartoons suck now. I see magic swords on TV. I think, "Hmm, that would be cool if my Templar had that to murder demons with".

More innovative abilities? ZITHER! would like to have a word with you...

No, it's mostly that I'd prefer for the weapons in DA:I to be at least somewhat unique to the universe rather than copies of weapons in other media. It's just a preference, though, not a 'make or break' thing.

He still has to equip a staff. Tossing in weapons like flails and spears would not only require new animations for the basic attacks for them (not all that much of a difference for flails, but there'd be a big difference for spears), but they'd require entirely new weapon-sets along with abilities unique to those weapons. Not to mention the weapon upgrades.
For ZITHER!, all of his abilities have pretty much the same animation. The main differences are the colors and the effects.

Yes, but new weapon types is more in depth. As cool as having a spear would be, I doubt we'll see it. Different weapons that keep the same basic animations, sure...nothing to drastically change animations on all characters though...I could be (hope I am) wrong. I'd like to see a character that could use 2 1-handed swords. I. AM. SPARTACUS!
Yes, ZITHER!'s abilities have the same animation...but the abilities are ALL unique/innovative. His play style is completely different than everyone else.

I miss dual-wielding war axes..... I really wish the combat hadn't been so simplified after DA:O....
But yeah, I don't see that happening any time soon. As for ZITHER!, he still can be played offensively, defensively (i.e.: Barriering the team and/or buffing them/debuffing enemies), or a mix of the 2. Not exactly a 'unique' playstyle, but then, maybe I'm being a bit too broad with that, so meh.

I've already told him it wouldn't take away from his chances to get a gig. It's like this: We build up fame - suckers pour in trying to book the gang - more gigs - even more fame - scantily clad girls invent increasingly cunning ways to hide in Zither!'s dress bin.
He seemed quite understanding after I explained that to him.

Exactly what would you like to see that is neither offense nor defense? (The answer is dancing...Destiny got that right...DAIMP needs dancing).
Fine...you're right. You got me. ZITHER! is exactly the same as all the other characters in that he attacks and defends.

Would be funny to see some dancing in DA:I, though. Shep dances in ME1-3, so why can't we have a PC in DA that dances?

They would have to all be bought with platinum to pay for the licensing fees. O.O
