Okay so first off, just beat ME3, I've had the games upon day one of their release I never beat any of them because I never had time. however I took some off and just finished all 3 games simultaneously.

however the ending to ME3, along with storyline of the game brought forth an idea that idk if its been thought of messaged archived whatever. its a possible solution that could truthfully be possible given the events at the end of ME3.

okay so SPOILERS  if you haven't beat the game this might ruin it for you or you might just not know what the heck im talking about.

at endgame on ME3, technically Shepard (given his heroic nature) would always sacrifice himself to control the reapers. however if he can control the reapers, and the catalyst, wouldn't he have access to their primary and secondary functions?

this lead me to believe that Shepard could return in another game. I mean I like the storyline its amazing, and I like the way they ended it. however with such power, it wouldn't end there, life would go on more would happen and with Shepards control of the reapers and all their knowledge from the reapers and the catalyst. couldn't he not only use the reapers however he seen fit, but he could harvest pretty much 1-2 humans (or just use some of the dead beings from the catalyst room you first enter at the end mission), and make an organic (yet technically synthetic) humanoid in his exact likeness, and pretty much respawn himself as a new being, as the reapers did with husks.

now a few technical flaws could be presented with this, but it wouldn't be 100% left out of question, its quite possible this could happen, and it would just be like a way to introduce the storyline, I mean he was brought back to life once before, it's not like he couldn't do it. but  he could also use a reaper ship as saren did with sovereign, or just go back to the Normandy, or he could increase scientific knowledge amongst the races of the universe (in limit of course otherwise... well the cycle begins again)

now he wouldn't need to leave the "computer" he is in now, because it would be like EDI using EVA's body but would have limited distance. if the catalyst could reach dark space, commander shepard could easily go anywhere in the milky way with that high of a signal range output.

now, I assure most people would say that there would be nothing to happen in the storyline, however, given what had happened with the current storyline, couldn't it be possible that another galaxy had something similar happen to them, im sure that with all this advanced technology, that the previous races that were turned into reapers, that aren't even mentioned, had built something like the Omega-4 relay. and possibly warping them out into another galaxy with enough materials to build survive and basically rebuild another citadel like machine, thus making the cycle, galaxy specific. perhaps shepard would have to fend off against another race long forgotten returning to their home galaxy.

just speculations. the storyline could still continue, shepard could still be in another game, but given the scare that the reapers had caused he wouldn't be able to use them, in any fights. he would basically have to rely on the Normandy, its crew and whatever upgrades this limitless knowledge had given him, or technically it now considering shepard became part of a machine.

any thoughts? do you believe this would be a good way to continue Shepards legacy, or should he just be a reaper general now lol. cus personally with our technology rising, there is so much more you can do, pretty soon you could explore every planet in the ME universe every mountain and hill... I mean, tali (or whomever you chose to make your companion in the games) sure ass h**l wont forget about Shepard. and this could continue lifelines and parts of the story that even with 100 different characters you couldn't continue what happens with Shepard.

Finally thanks for reading, and sorry it was so long XD im suggesting by the touchiness of the topic this may turn into a debate, but with a good debate you must start with good reasoning.

keep on gaming,
Commander MAGNUS out

No. Shepard is dead. I killed her last night when she jumped into the synthesis beam. I have closure. It's over. Finally.

I like to see Shepard in another game.

If she does come back, its possible Bioware would make high ems destroy ending canon since Shepard lives. Or Bioware can write something else to explain how Shepard is in another game

If the trilogy is remastered for the PS4 and Xbox One and sells very well, it might be enough to bring Shepard back for another game. For the remaster to sell well, I would include all dlc.

Of course this is speculation on my part and if they do bring Shepard back, I'm sure the game would do well.

Destroy seems to be the only way Shepard can come back unless you want it to be like DA: Awakening where you play another person if the your Warden is dead.

There's really no need for Shepard to build a body with harvested Humans. He could build a normal synthetic body and upload a part of himself in it (like EDI and Eva's body).

The only way Shepard could return would be in a prequel to ME1-3.  Otherwise, there's always a Shepard VI.

It can only predict what the real Shep would say with 7% accuracy.

Simple: get 15 of them together.  15*7% is 105%, which would make them even more accurate than the real thing!

15 Shepard VIs together.

Liara: I'd like you to meet a friend of mine, Tesha. Tesha is another pureblood.

15 VI Shepard: Pureblood? I thought Asari needed other species to reproduce.

Liara: Think, Shepard, our species would have died out long ago if we couldn't reproduce with our own kind. It wasn't until we discovered interstellar travel that we started mating with other species.

15 VI Shepard: I should go.... or was that I should go... or I should go.... or I should go. I say way cooler stuff that this.

You never know, they might do some merger of the endings like what was done in Deus Ex: Invisible War. I wouldn't like that because it would basically say my story didn't happen, but it's possible. In that scenario Shepard could still exist in some form. While I'm skeptical of Mass Effect continuing without Shepard, I do believe if it continues it should be without Shepard.

She? She?! I think you got it wrong, buddy. If Shepard's coming back, it's going to be as the Mark Vanderloo version. There is no other Shepard. Period. :P

But seriously, if they brought Shepard back, would they have us customize them the way we did for Hawke in DA:I?

I don't have it wrong. I will refer to Shepard as a she if I choose since I prefer playing femshep vs maleshep

I was joking. Sorry. I thought it was obvious. I played almost exclusively femshep myself.

Seems like it'd be simple enough to bring back your general appearance of Shep. For once, it's not tech that stops things from being possible... but the writers.

God, I really hope so. Shepard and the character relationships are wonderful, I want to continue. :(

Also, I don't know if Shepard would actually

Spoiler

But yea, I really live in ignorant hope that the next one is just like one of the other games, continuing the story.

Oh for f**** f****** sake, can't people let old characters go away? You had Shepard and his crew for 3 games, let them have a rest already. Am I the only one that is happy that Shepard and his crew are gone and that the new Mass Effect will feature new characters?

^^^^ Yeah, my thoughts exactly: Liara never said it had to be sapient species: that question wasn't so dumb as it is made out to be.

Anway, I said it before: I would want to see Red Ending Shepard to be the new protagonists Anderson. The older mentory figure.

Yes actually you do, Male shep > fem shep

Anyways, more than likely the Destroy option seems to most logical choice if Bioware was going to go with a "canon" ending.

For renegade? Absolutely, she always sounds like she is pissed off anyways. But for paragon I much prefer Maleshep.

No, you do and nothing you say will prove otherwise :) Male shep > femshep, always. Femshep is overrated
