Who here is missing 1 or more of the top items such as....

Superior Cooldown Amulet

Superior Belt of Health

Superior HOK ring

Superior Crit Damage ring

Then weapons as well

Non Dragon weapons like the Caliban, Sulevan Blade.  PBtM BotG Thunderclap etc.

Was wondering how the forum loot stacked up.

I'm missing a few myself.

I'm quite new to these kind of thread, do you mean we can't get caliban anymore now?

I liked those chests but they were overpowered. Rng doesn't exist anymore if those chests are permanent.

I LOVED those chests. However I am in agreement with you. It would be the death of Routine difficulty because everyone would be too quickly OP to bother to play it. It would also encourage more noobs to jump difficulties early to gold farm.

Highest quality armor upgrades have the worst drop rates in the game. Cotton materials aren't even a close second. As much as I play the game I would think that I would have every outfit maxed out, but I only had 8 outfit maxed prior to that event. That's some... anyway. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only person in the game with all the outfits unlocked and would like to be able to upgrade them with something besides crappy AUs.

What they should do is have a premium chest that goes for about 25-50K that gives better odds at getting top-tier uniques, but not guaranteed. The AU chest should be 5K each. Because of last week's event I was able get 2 of the unique items on my Do Not Have list and was able to fully-upgrade 10 outfits (updating some outfits that already had crappy AUs).

The only items I don't have: Caliban, Shield of Emperor, and the two 2H dragon weapons.

Wow, class chests were OP.

400K gold? Well done.

To be fair I also that's the total gold I've spent ever, not that weekend.

I only had 24k gold that weekend to spend. I did splurge and open 80-100 class chests chests using platinum. ( sigh I'm sure the anti-p2w crowd is gonna come crucify me). So I think altogether I spent the equivalent of 200k gold that weekend.

I realized real quick the class chests way too good to be true and that if they came back they would be more expensive and maybe even have lower drop rates, so I really went all out

No crucifixion, but the devs did state that those who purchased platinum would see improved loot rolls. Even a slight improvement helps, so this makes a bit more sense.

Really? Huh was that in stream? Recently? I never noticed that. Platinum definitely never gave better odds of getting anything from large/medium chests.

The only thing I noticed with class chests and accessory chests were that occasionally RNG derps and gives you the exact same draw twice in a row.

I had that happen on 4/8 accessory chests and out of 100 class chests, I dunno how often, but enough that it really stuck out to me. At least 5-8 times.

But it's not new, I've seen that happen on large/medium chests since MP began.

Edit: I did check my inventory to make sure, and yes it was duplicate draws, not a GUI glitch

I take it this counts toward which loot bucket you're in, or is this something else? I've got a friend who buys some platinum from time to time, and plays a bit less than me. He seems to have better luck, though. Would that be a bonus from buying Platinum, or just RNG being RNG?

I'm pretty sure that was referring to the fact that the more chests you open, the higher in the loot pool you go.

So, someone who only spends gold earned in-game buys a bunch of chests (and/or also opens all treasure room chests).

Another person does the same, but then also circumvents the system by purchasing platinum (thus, skipping extra in-game time earning gold), and buys a bunch of chests. They are, logically, going to potentially rise higher in the loot pool because if both people play the same amount of game-time, but one also purchases platinum while the other doesn't, then the one buying platinum will have opened more chests in the same amount of time. In theory as a very simple example, not accounting for speedrunning, etc.

I do not think the statement was intended to say those buying chests with platinum would rise higher in the loot pool just by virtue of spending platinum. If that is the case, THEN WHERE IS MY GODDAMN SUPERB HOK RING???

(Last sentence was mostly in jest, not actual anger. Mostly.)

Saved most of my money and spent it only when the 2.4k class chests were released. Now I got everything in game, including 2-3x of every superb ring. Salvaged 3x superb HoK, Calibans, Shield of the Emperor, Sulevins along the way and still have several copies left over.

I wonder what kind of chests will come out this weekend - seems to be a weekly thing now.

To be honest, I look forward to the chests more than I do the challenges or the balance changes.

I'm thinking this one is definitely coming out soon:

"Chest of the Dragon" - 4800 gold / guaranteed rare/unique dragon weapon

Ah. I figured as such, but if there was such a bonus, I might be tempted to buy Platinum.

See, I actually have three of those. Just not much else. Six dragon shields, for some reason. RN-Jesus giveth and he taketh away.

I wouldn't be jealous of my luck.

So not true! I opened 15 of those class chests and didn't pull a single thing of use aside from a couple of duplicates to salvage and 3 enhanced ability rings I didn't have (and probably won't use anyway). My prestige at the time was about 325. As cool an idea as the class chests were they ended up being a complete waste of gold for me. RNG still reigns supreme until/unless they add a chest that guarantees a level 20+ unique, sadly. Even then the RNG could screw us. The system would just be weighted more heavily in our favor.

I think claiming that they would be "the death of routine" is massively overstating their impact.

They are reasonably powerful for players who have a lot of gold stored up and can afford to buy 50-100 of them. Your odds of getting some pretty great items are, indeed, higher, and a lot more predictable (and controllable - want daggers? go rogue. want caliban? go warrior.), but I wouldn't term them overpowered.

Newer players simply can't afford to buy many of them, and remember - they are in lower loot buckets, so their guaranteed rares are likely to be level 5 rares that are worse than level 10 commons.
I think that many people on the forums forget that they are not representative of the overall playerbase, particularly casuals.

Those chests remind me of the arsenal and reserves packs from ME3, which I don't believe anyone would say were overpowered. They just give the player a degree of control over the RNG. The big difference here, however, is that DAMP has no equivalent of the premium spectre pack or even the spectre pack which guarantee something decent. I don't think that absense is a good thing, as it makes RNG much more infuriating and makes chests much less attractive. That is a decent portion as to why I have yet to buy Platinum - I might buy 100 large chests and get nothing good. It's unlikely, to be sure, but people like a degree of certainty when spending actual money.

I have PBtM in all three flavors now; I got my first one in the first free box when the game came out.

I only have one Dragon weapon, and just got the Axe of Dragon Hunter over the special box weekend; I'm lacking in some rings and stuff as well. If I keep playing I'll eventually get them.
