First, the rumors are true: Fallout 4 is set in Boston, as demonstrated by scenes from an alternate-universe Scollay Square, the real-life Boston city center established in 1838 and demolished in 1962, plus other landmarks in the video.

Is it sad that I enjoyed NV trailer far more and pre-ordered that game when I saw it, where I don't have that feeling for FO4?
Maybe because of your dislike of Bethesda?

When Bethesda creates a Fallout game that feels like a Fallout game, then I won't bash their Fallout products.

Agree to that aswell. I rather liked having your dad in FO3 commenting on how you acted and what you had done though, was a nice summary of your way to play. Still i feel that karma and reputation systems shouldn't be in any games. NPC's should just react to decisions we made, for better or worse.
The one thing I'd say is that if factional responses are going to take effect across the entire game world, then we should have some idea why it's happening - if not a visible reputation system, then something like discovering a note where you're declared the faction's friend or enemy.
Something I'd like to see is a "neutral" character marker on the PipBoy, so that you can't always tell what a stranger's intentions might be if you approach him or her first. Occasionally FO3 and NV would have characters who would appear friendly at first but then attack after you talk to them, but most of the time, I knew whether I was walking into danger before the NPC even saw me.

you know ive come to realize, I dont like bethesda games. Their games a great. Its a giant sandbox that you can play with. I have literally months logged on to my skyrim savefile. And I think thats why Im not hyped anymore. Ive played this type of game to oblivion...
I hope you guys enjoy the new fallout 4 game. ![]()

Out of curiosity, do you consider Tactics and Brother of Steel to 'feel like a Fallout game'? Or do you just consider the first two games in the series?

So I like that there is BOS and I like the graphics.

Fallout 4ever
Actually between the staticky tear-like visuals and airship in the teaser I was referring to Bioshock Infinite.

I know. I was making a play on the name infinite by going with 4ever (forever) because the number four could be included in that

Ha, I was thinking that making the dog the player character would make the game interesting and that the trailer made it kinda seem that way.

I'll be more upset if the dog dies than my character's family dying. XD

Tactics was a fun spin off, didn't enjoy BoS at all. Loved 1,2 and NV (which I consider a true Fallout 3 since it connects to 1+ 2 better, has alot of references, old characters, elements from the cancelled FO3+4 being there ect)
I don't have a issue with how they decided to do the gameplay(hence hwy with the improvements in NV, I enjoy it) my issue is the writing and just how poor player agency, no reputation, no traits, perks galore, max all your stats! ect

Anyone have opinions on a possible voiced protag this time around?
I think I'm all for it........I'd have to see who the female/male VA's are though

Meh. I don't really see the point in bethesda like games.

Bethesda better leave that crap out. FO3/SKyrim already suffered from poor player agency to begin with.

I'm against it. I like having my own interpretation of the player character's voice and the way/tone they say things. I feel that games with character creators should never have a voiced player character, it just really drives a rift between me and the character.

There are some leaks that suggest there will be a voiced protag, also that you can only play male. How accurate these leaks are on the other hand we won't know before E3.
