The leaks about the family stuff fit the trailer perfectly tbh. If this all does turn out to be true, then goddam. Bethesda really shot themselves in the foot.

They probably won't be that stupid. They have more or less always supported the idea that you can be whoever you want to be. But Fallout is not the same as TES. So we'll see.

Unless I'm much mistaken, the man with the baby in the pre-War flashback is the same one walking with the dog, wearing a Vault suit.

 

Are we actually playing in the immediate aftermath of the Great War with the prologue being the Apocalypse? Not sure how I feel about that.

The family stuff appeared to take place in the 21st century, during the war.

 

unless this is a prequel, FO4 should be set at least a century later.  I'm guessing those were the protagonist's ancestors.

No way they won't explore the Railroad, established in Fallout 3. In fact, there were quite a few references to the Commonwealth in FO3, none in New Vegas. The game will probably be set after Fallout 3.

I really hope they don't go with a voiced protagonist, and I can't see them being that stupid as to make it male only in a Fallout or TES game.

 

and even though I did like Fallout 3, I'm hoping they pick up some tips from New Vegas like handling the different factions and emphasizing a reputation system over the binary good/evil karma system.

 

I wouldn't be surprised if the game takes place just after the bombs drop and the baby is the protagonist. Your dog just seems a bit too interested in that cradle where the baby was, so I'd say at the very least that family is related to the protagonist.

 

It's nice to see more colour than we had in the capital wasteland.

It at least lets them actually portray an empty-ish wasteland like the Capital Wastes properly, without breaking FO lore.

I really doubt that it's a male only game. Bethesda always makes their protagonists in the trailers male. That being said I'm going to say it one more time. I'm EXCITED!

They no longer take plots and copy them, now they take old character looks and copy them too. Bethesda Fallouts ftw.

I think I'm all for it........I'd have to see who the female/male VA's are though

As I said, VO takes it from "bargain bin buy" to "full price buy". I'm not against a silent PC, but only when the rest of the world is silent (i.e., POE).

I just wanna explore that skyscraper in the background tbh. Wait should that thing even be up? I thought the only reason stuff like that survived in NV was because of Mr House why are they still up in Boston?

They made them pretty similar, although really they both look like pretty generic white guys.

The Washington monument was still standing and DC was hit by more nukes than anywhere else.
