Well, obviously since Bethesda isn't good at it that means Obsidian is excused =P

I'm not trying to have a Bethesda vs Obsidian pissing match here. I don't like how either developer handled the ending to their Fallout games.

It has nothing to do with Bethesda vs Obsidian.

It has everything to do that there's really no point in doing the main quest in any Bethesda game besides "Oh, hey I finished it once".

I still haven't even finished the main quest in Skyrim, and I probably never will.

Like the two DLCs they released for Skyrim?

When they announced "Fallout 3 style DLC" I was expecting more than two DLCs for it.

I thought that was due to the fact that each DLC made the game even buggier and unstable. Dragonborn in particular was a ****** in the bugs department. Admittedly that's just guessing on my part.

Well, I finally have a reason to buy a PS4 now. Just watched the trailer and I'm ****ing pumped. I can't wait to melt some faces with my beloved Plasma Rifles.

I really don't get where people get the whole "Skyrim is laden with bugs" thing. I have vanilla Skyrim on the PS3 and rarely had any bugs, and I have the legendary edition on PC and neither do I have any bugs with it. If anything that does cause bugs then it's mods (but again, most Skyrim mods are so easy to install, it's really difficult to screw up).

The only thing that really bothers me its that the humans have the same shitty animations like in their old games, you'd think that they would improve those.

I always come across loads of the things. From random junk becoming quest items to companions disappearing.

I ran into a game breaking one on Skyrim in its early days. Quests didn't update. Ohh and a dragon flew backwards once. But that's it, really.

Skyrim has a mountain of documented bugs, running the gamut, covering everything you could imagine. The Skyrim Unofficial Patch mod has over 18,000 bugs documented, with the mod aiming to fix as many as possible. This is just the vanilla game, no other mods.

On the other hand, Skyrim is the most stable main series Elder Scrolls game they've ever released. Out of the box, it is much more polished than the previous games. So who knows. I am similarly lucky when it comes to Obsidian games, the most annoying issues I ran into were memory related CTDs in NV and a cursor bug in Alpha Protocol.

I'm just hoping we get Obsidian's in the South.

I wanna fight my super gators.

Fallout: Orleans anyone?

Funny story: when that story was being posted, there were rumors circling the game media that FO4 might have been in Orleans.

Bethesda-style games, by which I mean open-world games in general where you can kill huge numbers of the NPC cast at almost any stage of the game, are notoriously tricky and susceptible to bugs. Considering how bugs often work, and how trying to remove bugs can often cause more bugs elsewhere, huge 'flat' games of parallel potential issues are almost inherently buggy. It's not a matter of laziness, it's one of the give-and-takes of non-streamlined games.

Funny enough whenever I say things about a Fallout in the south I always really mean a New Orleans Fallout.

Never knew those were actual rumors.

I wasn't blaming Bethesda being lazy, open world games are generally more buggy. But their reliance on the GameBryo Engine and offshoots since Morrowind is a big contributor.

My 360 copy begs to differ.

If there's a bug I encountered it.

If there was a patch, it broke my games.

Out of the box?

Definitely, with patches...no....

Get ready BSN, the Enclave is coming for you. All mutants, ghouls, bandits and agitators will be exterminated.

Keeping in mind that even if it's true there's a big enough lag in development that a lot of things might change (see e.g. how ME1 had a tactical view with full party control during the X06 gameplay video).

Off topic, but man... what a world that would have been if THAT had been the case. Tactical RTwP RPG space shooter combat. <sigh>

I think Oblivion and Inquisition are so similar.

Closing dem evil gates

Both Oblivion and Skyrim influenced Inquisition.

Why would you think that? It isn't like they do cinematic scenes or anything.

Now... BIOWARE using the same animations, recycled from years and years ago? THAT doesn't make sense. You must acquit.

And I played Vanilla Skyrim on PC, and one of the first things I experienced within first 3 hours of playing, was a dozen identical birds spawning inside a tree and constantly chirping like they were being tortured.

Then some hours later, I got a progression blocker in a main quest that I needed to fix out of the game. YMMV

I assume Fallout 4 to be just as buggy if not more, with the very likely added thing of paid mods.

I still get that.

They're demon birds!

Although, I can't differentiate from our birds and video game birds....

Woke up, saw the trailer again and i am still psyched. For people saying that the graphics look bad, i just don't get it. Are you talking about texture sizes and irrelevant stuff like that? The color choice, the lighting and the design of the models is pretty well done, in my opinion. It is better to have a great art style than realistic graphics. Isn't Fallout about staying true that 1950's American style?

I think the complaint is that the appearance has a glowing, shiny veneer to it, which seems almost Looney-Tunes esque. Very bright, saturated colors, which look at little cartoony.

I don't have a problem with it at this stage, but it does sort of work against the dark and gritty presentation of the Fallout universe.
