I'm not buying it. Early 2016, maybe. Not 2015. Just don't see it happening.
Bestheda kept Skyrim pretty under wraps until they were ready to go, and it's been a while.
Although there is a separate thread regarding the "Reddit Leak", I thought I'd address the fact that it is phony in this thread as well, because I don't like bull spreading XD
Thanks Vroom Vroom
I suspected/hoped as much, cause if that were true it'd be a definite no buy for me.

but if i win i want that in 5000 one cent coins, ill use them to buy the game, the guys in the store have it coming

Vroom Vroom is the hero Bioware deserves needs to include in the next Mass Effect.
Bethesda just released some F04 HD screenshots from the game/trailer. Looks amazing.
Spoiler
Anyone that complains about graphics really need to check their facts. This might not be Crysis 3, but still looks damn good. That's for sure.
I also hoping that we actually get to play during those pre-war times at the start of the game. I aways have been very curious to see what the pre-war Fallout world looks like.
Wonder if we'll fight real Deathclaws in FO4 or will we see the return of wussyclaws from FO3?

It'd be cool if someone on the crew in the next Mass Effect collected vintage cars and stored them in the hangar....
They could even have a sad and character development moment when the character that collects cars opens the hangar and sacrifices his/her car collection to save the crew.

To be fair, the last time I played Fallout 2 I killed a cave full of Deathclaws by punching them in the crotch.

I was comparing the wussyclaws to the deathclaws in NV.
Hey, if they continue that route, I'd be very happy. I despise how the video game industry has moved to a two year game development cycle coupled with an 18 month marketing blitz.
But I'm still not caught in the belief that we are going to see FO4 this year.
I like 2-4 years. 2 years if going semi-episodic (I don't respect the annual Assassin's Creed deluge of same-ness). 3 years generally. 4 years if tackling significant console/tech/design/engine/creative hurdles.
I'd want the next Mass Effect late this year but I'm no longer holding my breath at all about that.
Fallout really could be this year. More likely than Mass Effect haha. But I'm still more easily willing to bet for 2016.
The next Elder Scrolls won't be til 2016 minimum, more likely 2017-2018, and it would fit their 'normal' gap time.
So, I have formed some expectations I have of a new Fallout game.
1. The story doesn't necessarily have to be very good - but I want it to be a dominant, prevalent theme, that all game is centered on. Fallout games never had really good main stories - but in both 1,2 and New Vegas, the main quest line refered to resolving an issue that could be observed in almost every aspect of the game - many locations, side quests and characters refered to it. The main story set the scene for an entire game. In Fallout 1 - The Master and Children of the Cathedral, along with the Super Mutants influenced many locations you wandered to. Characters and locations were connected and intertwined in a complicated web of events.
In Fallout 2, you got the feeling that someone (as it later turns out - the Enclave) is working behind the scenes in most cities and communities you visited. You were able to discover their presence if you looked carefully enough. Again - events and communities were connected by the main plot of the game. Similarly in New Vegas - many side quests and objectives were connected to working for different factions striving for control over New Vegas - and the conflict between the civilized NCR and barbaric Legion permeated every location and community you encountered.
However in Fallout 3, the main story felt completely disjointed from other events of the game. Most of the factions and communities you encountered did not have a hand in the events of the main story, did not have contacts to either the Enclave or the Purity Project. This all caused side missions to feel completely separated from the main plot of the game (Skyrim has the same issue incidentally - none of the factions are affected in any way or concerned about dragons flying around).
2. I want a proper Fallout ending. The game should summarize my actions in the end and show me how my decisions affected various communities and factions that I encountered and worked for. This may seem obvious - but hey - Fallout 3 didn't do it.
3. Technology used, architecture and development of societies should reflect the year that the game is occuring in. Fallout 3 really messed it up, but looking at the trailer, this is so far the only thing I'm certain will be done right this time.
4. Get rid of bottlecaps. Seriously. Or at least introduce alternative currencies, like New Vegas did. Bottlecaps were used as a payment just after the Great War. It's been 200+ years already. People have moved on to real currencies.
5. More humor. Fallout's world is full of cynical humor and parodies of American '50s culture. Please include that. Fallout games do not treat themselves too seriously - and it's part of their nature and charm.
6. I want an option to avoid fighting as much as possible. Pacifistic/clever option of resolving conflicts, that should be at least as rewarding as using brute force.
They include those points, and I will probably buy this game near it's launch for full price.

On this note, I hope they fix brokenly overpowered characters and make the game harder in general compared to Fallout 3.
Especially preventing players from being able to get 10 in all SPECIAL stats and 100 in all skills.
Bethesda has never really been good with balance, though, so I'm not really holding out a lot of hope prior to the modding community fixing it.

Oh, than in that case, yeah. I don't **** with no NV Deathclaw.

Yup, this was a big reason I preferred NV. They got rid of alot of useless perks and added new ones, perk every two level, imposable to have perfect stat characters, skills books where handled better ect.
Also if they go back to using damage resistance(I do prefer DT my self tho) only, make the game less easy then FO3.
I'm interested in that "Memory Den" in that one IGN screenshot up there. Maybe that explains all the flashbacks - implanted memories/drugs being used as some sort of recreational pastime for people (a la Recall) who find the current reality of their situation pretty crappy?
Or i could be reading too much into that, and it could just be a strip club/bar/whatever.
Is this a prequel?
It looks like a prequel.

I gored them all with my horn.

I hope they stick with DT as well.
Or at the very least if they're insistent on going back to DR, then make the cap lower than 85% or make it much harder to actually get there without the use of drugs.

Yeah, NV got the balance a lot better and you never got too OP. I always felt that as badass as the Courier got, the Mojave Wasteland was just as dangerous and had a couple tricks to take me down if I let myself get too complacent and stopped paying attention.
Unlike FO3, where the Lone Wanderer was way too powerful for his own good. I loved the character, but sometimes I did question how a 19-year-old kid with no prior experience of life outside the Vault could master the Capital Wasteland, a veritable warzone for over 200 years, almost instantly?
