While, Fallout: New Vegas was superior to 3, in my opinion. I am not against having Bethesda do Fallout 4 and the reason for that is it beats the hell out of getting nothing. Fallout 3 was good in its own right, I just hope that Bethesda doesn't make another children run community or if they do, they let us kill children like we could in Fallout and Fallout 2. Nothing ruins me role-playing a madman who sets out to destroy all civilization quicker than running into an indestructible village where I can kill the two dogs at best.

Edit: I'm hoping that the failure/disappointment that is The Elder Scrolls Online has caused them to not consider an online Fallout.

I don't think we're years away , I thinK Fallout is coming this winter or the start of next year.

If it's been in development a while, it kinda wouldn't surprise me if it straddled the generations like DAI did.

You are not alone, Cyonan. I, too, really enjoyed both. I honestly prefer the atmosphere and Capital Wasteland of 3, but liked the factions and overall gameplay improvements better of NV.

It will be Fallout 4, it will be made my Bethesda Game Studios. It will not be online and it will be a great game. If you didn't like Fallout 3 i can understand that, personal preferences, but it was a good game in terms of production etc.
