So, i have a few questions about the Templar spec for warriors.  :)

I heared that Spell Purge + Wrath of Heaven is good combo? In what way are you supposed to use them together?

I also read that Wrath of Heaven is only against demons but i heared you can make it work against non-demons aswell? If so how? (Detailed please).

Thanks in advance for any answers.  ^_^

Wrath of Heaven is an aoe stun, and Spell Purge is an eldritch detonator. So if you use Wrath of Heaven followed Spell Purge, it triggers a combo.

Wrath of Heaven+Spell Purge is the most powerful non crit combo I can think of.

Just to be complete.  Wrath of Heaven is an AOE stun and Spell Purge is an AOE eldritch detonator.  The combo is:

Stun + Eldritch Detonator = Rupture -> 1200% Spirit damage and Weakness

That is a lot of damage.  Using a 2 handed as your base makes that HUGE damage.  Take one of the Greatswords for instance.  215 DPS on t3 mats with 190 damage/attack.  That is over double a mages damage/attack in a staff.  This means that the 1200% spirit damage is equivalent to 2400% spirit damage for a staff.  And Eldritch detonators were designed with staves in mind.

Thank you very much, that was a great explanation of what it does. :)

Seems like my choice of Templar aint as helpless as i thought.

Currently i am Sword and Shield but i Think i will go over to 2H once i get to Templar just for that big combo.

Yeah add masterworks and armor which maximize crit chance and crit damage as well as for the fun of it add a masterwork to apply 10‰ chance walking bomb. Fade touched Imperial vestments cotton.

Also try upgraded war horn which also hits enemies in a aoe and props masterworks. Have a second masterwork in armor to proc horn of valor. That's pure offense right there. The other option for best masterwork is to increase damage by x‰ for every enemy within 8? Meter radius as you will be doing that wrath spell purge combo in the middle of a group of enemies. Guard on hit is good too but in between war horn and charging bull I find it optional. You can generate guard with abilities on warriors and use masterworks which really boost your offense. Note this two hander is an offensive powerhouse and better next to a tank on harder difficulty rather than being the tank.

Okay, i have the Templar spec now and changed to 2H.... Lets just say i aint regretting it! I 1shot entire groups of trash mobs making everything but bosses a breeze doing between 3000-4000 damage on level 9!

Surprised this combo aint nerfed.  :D

Well this combo is effectively all the fun factor the Templar class has, if it was nerfed the Templar would be a buff machine. Glad you are enjoying the Templar, it is my favorite warrior class and it's nice to see other people preferring it to the Champion's crazy dueling abilities.

I highly recommend you drop blessed blades completely from your actionbar though.  It only effects demons, and has a very small radius.  It's more fun to add something else.  And although Earth shattering strike isn't as great as it used to be, it's still a lot of fun to light the ground on fire.

I did a playthrough with 2H Templar and another one with 2H Champion. I found the Templar to be a lot more fun to play.

Pro Tip: Charging bull (upgraded) is a must-have for Templar.  You use it to prime your Wrath of Heaven to be free of cost.

Bigdawg, what race did you choose for your 2H Templar?

Great tip. I have a Qunari 2H Templar (he even told Cass he doesn't believe in the Maker). Upgraded Charging Bull, WOH, Purge for the win. With a good two handed weapon (Axe of the Dragon Hunter schematic) you can also use the Spin to Win technique on anything that can't be stunned. You won't have the guard generating ability of a Champion- but it can be a bit of a hybrid of the 2H DPS Champion build. If your Crit CHance is over 30% and you have Flow of Battle-you can keep Whirlwind going almost indefinitely.

The way I understood it is "You rally all of your nearby allies to fight with greater strength, especially when facing demons." meaning the buff is higher when facing demons, but you still get a buff if your foes aren't demons. Does it not work that way?

Edit: Nvm I saw several sources address this, Horn of Valor could be a good substitute, right?

I'd say so. I just became a Templar at level 9 so I'm looking up things to use.

I chose Human, but it really doesn't matter.

Horn of Valor is great, but I would never spec for it.  I say this for 2 reasons.

1)  You have to take crippling blows and coup de grace before getting horn of valor.  Assuming you'll want upgraded horn of valor, that's an investment of 4 points (5 if you have no interest in the battlemaster tree whatsoever).  That's a lot of points.

2)  You have a limit of 8 skills for action bars.  Only 8!!!!  I'd rather have whirlwind, earth shattering strike (which is awesome looking!!!!), etc and let someone else buff the party.

I would normally craft an item for someone else in my party that would activate horn of valor.

Level 14  and I like my Templar Battlemaster build right now. Main skills are un-upgraded Spell Purge and Wrath of Heaven plus Upgraded Horn of Valor and War Horn. Buffing my party damage and debuffing enemy armor and panicking them is fun, on top of the massive weakness combo I can use. My other skills are upgraded Grappling Chain and Block and Slash(so I could get Flow of Battle).

Eventually I'll get Fade-Touched Snoufleur Skin for 12 seconds of regular Horn of Valor, but for now I'm happy with this.
