The Jugg is mediocre at best for a solo, so it is a good thing you are not considering it.

Batarian Soldier is one of the best solo character that rarely is discussed for some reason. Or go Krogan Soldier with Graal.

Nah, the Juggernaut is pretty good, even I managed to pull off a platinum solo with him.

Stagger don't mean **** if your slow ass can't make it to devices in a timely fashion. The enemy is faster than you and you will get mobbed on the device, how are you going to kill and disable at the same time? You only have so many rockets. Not to mention, Platinum Ravagers, or Scions can eat a Juggernaut fairly quickly in the open.

Nah, you're gonna need AMIII, RM(Speed), HM(Speed), AF(Speed), and BF(Speed), to really run with the Jugg. AMIII is crap on Jugg and a waste. Why play Jugg when you can Drell?

How many times have you soloed Plat with a Juggernaut with Adren Mod?

Difference between a Jug with Cyclonic Mod3 VS Adren Mod3 is; 60 minutes failed Plat solo VS 30 minutes successful Plat solo. The choice is that clear. 

 

This is also maybe the main reason why so many folks can't figure out the Jug. You still need maneuverability for tactics. ie. Got a bunch of lolDragoons adding crazy pressure? Well, good luck with that if you don't have Adren Mod3s on a Plat solo.

There is a degree of luck in it, I got devices on one of the waves in my solo, and with him that was stressful, but I was lucky enough not to have the device locations swarmed. I found targets to be even more tricky though due to his low speed. And yeah, even he goes down really fast if caught in the open.

^ Of course. Why Adren Mods3's are so vital to playing a good Jug or a bad Jug. Difference between a sitting duck and a moving duck. And solo's are all about being a moving duck.

I agree with that, AM III is a lot better for him than a cyclonic IV, the added movement speed makes a big difference.

Personally I never found solos to be enjoyable so I don't bother. I mean you either enjoy them in which case you do solos, or you don't in which case you don't bother.

 

Yeah, this is about right.  Unless you enjoy solos, or you get great satisfaction about completing new challenges, then no reason to solo.  I have no plans to try to solo Platinum, because I don't fall into either of those categories.

I have said this before, but I think the BatSol is EZ-mode for Gold Solos.  I tried several times with the TGI and AIU to do my first Gold Solo, and after about a half dozen fails, I tried the BatSol and did it on my first try with only about half my consumables used.  I'm sure he's equally good for Plat solos, with all the boss armor.

Not saying this guy did it, but it is very much possible. So there is no real reason to doubt it. Apart from the lack of hard evidence he provides.

So maybe it was 35 mins. And that was my second attempt. So there's no way a sub 30min Jug Plat solo is not possible. L2Jug.

 

Oh, and the stage was Giant, but I mostly hung around the LZ holding my ground for as long as possible and only moving & sticking around the LZ area as needed. Focus is Reeger melt the heck out of everything so you can hold your ground for as long as possible. Less running and more careful positioning means more killing. It's that simple.

Not sure if you are replaying to me, or just making a general statement now. 

But sub30 jug plat has been done, fastet i know is 22:xx, and that was on ps3 even, where you have more or less 1min on the clock by the time the first units spawn in on cerb plat.

I did 4 plat solos with the Jugg, 2 with CM4, 2 with AM3. Honestly I found AM3 way better than CM4, both to deal with objectives and for survivability. Wave 7 Cerberus for example was quite a pita with CM, while it was pretty easy with AM. 

 

I consider the Jugg as a friendly character for a first plat solo. Not as easy as TGI / AIU / Geth trooper, but still a good option. 

 

Sub-30 with a Reegar Jugg and AC5 is far from being impossible : it has already been done.

To answer OP: if you are unstoppable in pugs, it's the only challenge left for you, and if you like a challenge then there's your reason.

 

I've only ever done 2 platinum solos. One was Asari Valkyrie/Talon vs. Collectors/Glacier Hazard; the other was Drell Assassin/Venom on White/Cerberus. The Drell one was faster and dare I say easy, but the Thunderdome one was more satisfying cuz it took a bunch of tries. I'd suggest a character you like vs. a map & faction combo that presents an unusual challenge. So exclude Firebase White and Giant, perhaps also Glacier, and go from there.

Well, I didn`t really do it for you, I just put out some facts that happens to support your position in this.

 

On a personal note i would like to add that i find the jug to be a mediocre plat solo kit, for reasons mentiond in this thread allready. (and yes i used am3)

But then again, i don`t play alot of jug, and i`m not very strong with the kit.

But that doesn`t= a bad kit, like bsn likes to point out. If you can`t make it work, it`s a l2p issue
