Why does the majority pick Cerberus on Plat solos? (Not mockery, total serious).
Because no other faction can be trivialized in multiple ways like cerberus can be.
Every kit with venom (or any other stagger weapon) makes light work of cerberus, units that cost 70-80 pts to the wave budget die in 1-2 shots with powerful guns like arc pistol, black widow etc.
Plus, they are the fastest faction to solo if you have the right set-up.
I did 4 plat solos with the Jugg, 2 with CM4, 2 with AM3. Honestly I found AM3 way better than CM4, both to deal with objectives and for survivability. Wave 7 Cerberus for example was quite a pita with CM, while it was pretty easy with AM.
I consider the Jugg as a friendly character for a first plat solo. Not as easy as TGI / AIU / Geth trooper, but still a good option.
Sub-30 with a Reegar Jugg and AC5 is far from being impossible : it has already been done.
Depends on the map, really. The Jugg can be destroyed on maps like Condor and Hydra. I never found him easy to solo with, honestly. You need even more awareness, because he can't jump over things that other kits can, so it's easy to get cornered.

Well, those maps, especially Condor, are painful whatever the character for a plat solo.
The Jugg's slow movement speed requires a specific approach, I agree, you need to plan more what you are going to do with him. And using well both the turret and the shield IMO.
Due to terrible puggernauts I can't stand the hex shield, I never put a point into it either for pug games or solos.
But you are right Loufi, with the Juggernaut you need to think one step ahead, as he's to slow to just run away from dangerous situations (or easy mode infiltrator cloaking).

Seems the other way to me when I pug, but I never end alone much with the Jug when pugging, since picking him always guarantee's smooth sailing with the pugs. However I do recall I nightmare scenario on Hydra when left alone once, though the Jug was specced way different then normal as well (fitness evo 6a. Where I realized if I ever go that route again, to actually pick the big shield for once).

Yeah, I hate when the pugs spam that thing too. If only they didn't use it for dps. And of course it's even more of a nightmare when they choose the massive shield evolution. I used to rocket them out of my way.

Because phantoms and dragoons are easy to kill and have relatively high wave budget values, so it goes faster. Also, double banshees on platinum really sucks. Give me a couple of slow ass idiotic atlases- that get stuck in the doorway because they couldn't figure out who should go first- over banshees chasing you all over the map (and usually into the loving embrace of turrets, phantoms, pyros, etc.) any day of the week.
30min with a jug is not unbelieveble in anyway.

Not saying this guy did it, but it is very much possible. So there is no real reason to doubt it. Apart from the lack of hard evidence he provides.
Oh I'm not saying it's impossible. I've seen solos by guys like Knocking on PS3 and some others on PC. I just highly doubt a guy with one Plat solo to his name has posted a sub 30 min solo.
I have done 2 gold solos in my 2000+ ( probably even 2500+) hours of ME multiplayer. After multiple failures. One 70+ and one 80+ mins. Got my BoB and never even tried the 3rd one. Never ever thought about platinum solos.
That is how much I hate solos. Yepp.. I am a scrub.
Eh, gold is fun for me. I've started several just to test a build then I'll see how far I can get with it, most of the time at least make it to wave ten and generally successful. I leave the door open for friends to join usually when I'm soloing Plat or Gold and not in the mood for pugs. I've had a few people join wave nine on matches. And that doesn't matter at all, at this point I've accomplished everything I want to in this game.

Hard to tell for sure, to be honest. In one hand, Hydra has a few good RHA spots. But in the other hand, I can think about 1 or 2 devices and an escort which can be terrible for the Jugg on this map...

I had fun with gold solos (when I played more) but my only two semiserious attempts at Platinum Solos were no fun and I was kinda glad when they ended (wave 4 Sync, wave 8 ran out of gel)
GI and a sniper and a nice big open map was fun. Justicar. Human adept. And Tsent. Volus of course for easy mode.
If you want to do it, just do it. Or try to at least.

It's not bad, if you can get Praetorians on the ground to neutralize their bubble BS. A power like Reave that bypasses that nonsense makes it even easier.
