After I click "Play" on the Origins floating screen, the splash screen appears and then an error box pops up saying that the Origins has stopped working. The game has booted up once, but after that, it always crashes. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I have update all the drivers to my ATI 4870 card, and updated the game itself, and I get the same crash. I don't believe the game is defective, and it's too late to return.

No you do not have any such, sorry. The definition of video "card" isn't generous enough to include IGPs. Real video is on its own separate circuit board, with an edge connector on its bottom, and a clamping bracket on its left end. A small chip buried deep inside of a large ASIC is much different, and is EXPECTED to have trouble with 3D games, since it was never designed for them.
