^ Seems like a fine plan. It seemed a bit odd to me that everybody, including Miranda, Jacob, Kelly and dr. Cole's scientists, thought of Cerberus as whatever Illusive Man said it was. In ME2 they all agree that Cerberus is like the human STG -or whatever the salarian MI6 was called- . And then in ME3 there's nobody who says: I am still Cerberus, as Cerberus was supposed to be. I didn't betray the Illusive Man, the Illusive Man betrayed me. Instead everybody not indoctrinated drops their colours immediatly.

May be a little late on this since the dateline is Nov. 7, 2014.

It's more than that. She... at least before Overlord... is a light on Cerberus' more screwed up activities. She's there to test the player on how much they care about that stuff. And how much they can see past her presentation to realize any of this.

Not everyone played ME1, or read the books with Cerberus in it.

In-universe though, she's the most powerful human biotic alive lorewise. TIM, if anything, will try to use/control things before destroying them. While Jack sees Shep as someone who might help track down Pragia... that's pretty obvious right before you leave Purgatory.

Her character role is as you say. Her character design however is unmistakable.

TIM wouldn't control her by showing up in full Cerberus regalia, downplaying her past and flat out imposing his will on her anymore than he'd go up to the Reapers and start giving orders. Or at least he wouldn't if he wasn't an idiot. Subversion, manipulation and outright treachery get results, not the Cerberus tour bus and cheerleader. As much as I respect Miranda, she wouldn't be the one for the job, at least not as she is in the game. If her assignment was specifically to handle Jack and she were to assume a non-threatening alias and use a bit of spywork, sure. But not the "surprise, you're on a Cerberus mission and on this ship we follow orders" nonsense we see in ME2.

Wait, what's this even about again? Whether Miranda could be on the Alliance Normandy in ME3? Because Jack was on a Cerberus vessel in ME2?

The latter is far more implausible than the former.

Given the importance of Cerberus in ME3, I agree that Miranda should have had a larger role. I also agree that due to the specific role Cerberus played, Miranda being on the Normandy would be problematic, especially given an ME2 playthrough where she is never forced to turn against TIM (keeping the base).

I wouldn't say she's "forced" to turn against TIM. And even if she doesn't, she's still out by ME3. This is another Anderson/Udina choice. If we don't see/choose a justification, we will be told of one.

Kelly!! When the secretary has more to say about her former employers than the second in command, you know things are FUBAR.

I didn't mean forced in that way, but rather that she reaches a crisis point when TIM demands she stop Shepard. In that sense her hand is "forced" because she needs to choose one or another. If you keep the base, no such pivotal moment occurs.

While it's true that she could have left Cerberus between games even if you keep the base, it'd be a bit awkward for such an important event to be off-screen, similar to how jarring the change of situation is when we are reintroduced to the geth/quarian scenario in ME3. If something important happens (in this case, Miranda leaving Cerberus) I'd rather it happen in-game.

Regardless, I think the scenario of Cerberus as tentative allies makes this question much neater.

That does happen in-game if she's one of the squad mates in the super Terminator fight in ME2: she'll tell mr. Man that she resigns.

Okay guys this is getting deep, now an Uncharted trilogy remastered for PS4 has been announed. This brings the tally up to 4:

- Halo Master Chief Collection

- God of War 3 remastered

- Gears of War remastered

- Uncharted: Nathan Drake Collection

Am I missing anything

Guys, I do not know about you but I am starting to believe that I would be dissapointed if Bioware does not announce a Mass Effect remastered trilogy at E3. Many of the big brands of the previous gen are getting them, why wouldn't Mass Effect?

ME trilogy remastered would be a smart move.  Introduce new fans, bring back the the old... Set up for your new game...  And increase selling consoles while you're at it.

It needs to happen.  ME is one of the biggest games of the 00s-10s... One of the most popular.

Suggestions: Bring the ME3 FemShep's skin in the two first games, add additional ending sequences or choices (a successful Refusal ending would be interesting). Add optional bosses, make the story of the third game a bit longer or rewrite the last mission because it's lacking a little something extra that made the two first games awesome from start to finish. I'm not expecting something like MEHEM, I just want something that isn't anticlimatic to my own choices in the series.

How many people picked synthesis so joker and the edibot can be happy?

Joker seems more interested  talking with the thing after it became a platform. He wants to bake a cake, right? Would he of said that if it stayed as a hologram? Would he of mentioned to Shepard in purgatory there's no regulation saying he can't date the ship's ai?

I like Joker but I am not choosing his happiness over what's best for the galaxy.  He and his sexbot had a good thing while it lasted.  Besides, EDI would break him in bed.

Why would they bother remaking the trilogy?  It JUST finished!

What is the point of that?  It smacks of the amazing spiderman.  Come on guys.  Tired of remakes and remastered editions, same as homeworld 1/2 remastered edition.  They bought the property to do what exactly?  release the same damn game with some upgraded textures?  REALLY?

No.  Spend EVERY SCRAP of the effort on expanding into NEW areas of the mass effect universe.   It can be vast and open ended, do not limit it to a rehash of the same thing.

If they are afraid of their own capacity to world build, create an X prize for writers and lore people to solicit ideas with a prize, the most fleshed out and interesting world and creations win.

There are just too many retreads, as much as I like the star trek reboot, it's NOT as compelling as new stories as opposed to retreads of the original characters.

Settle down. The original studios don't make the HD remasters and if you don't want it then don't buy it.
