Hold Position command doesn't work. Party members will start moving away from selected location once switching to another character. Have turned off follow commands and ai etc doesn't make a difference. Was pretty bad in main story of inquisition but it's worse in hakkon, on Xbox 360

This is true of every platform. They had it working in DAO and DA2, in inquisition they can't even bother to fix it.

I found that it works--but only if you stay in tac cam 100%.  If you switch out of the tactical camera it cancels all those commands.  SO annoying.

Yep, works in tac-cam.

Seems to have three modes (observations only):

* Action - will cancel on next use of an ability.
* Tac-Cam - will cancel on next command.
* Tac-Cam double tap - will cancel when told to move, or perhaps when PC gets too far away.

Sorry to necro, but it seemed best to consolidate feedback.

"Hold Position" doesn't work properly outside tac cam, but absolutely should. When Hold Position is on, it should be 100% consistent until the player specifically gives a character an instruction or toggles it off. See: DA:O. I can't fathom why it doesn't work that way, especially since the other party commands work outside of tac cam.

That said, there is a funky workaround (at least on PC) if, like me, you get annoyed having everyone underfoot (or worse, knocking you off ledges) when you're trying to get through a jumping puzzle:

  1. Enter tac cam;
  2. Toggle Hold Position "on";
  3. Un-pause the game;
  4. Exit tac cam (scroll in).

You should then be able to freely move about while the party holds still. If you exit tac cam before you un-pause, the party ignores the command. Caveat: attacking will cancel the hold, so make sure you don't accidentally left click because you're used to using L+R click to move. >.>
