Making DA:I feel more alive

Hi,

   I have been playing DA:I for sometime now, been through the game a couple times played with the new DLC and my game is at the most recent patch. Now I was thinking since I do see it is some levels like Storm Coast that there are troops about that roam the level fighting or fending off wild life or other enemies about. Also I do see at times groups of them sitting about with a treasure chest with loot they have found. Will there be more of this for other levels? I also suggest that whom ever you ally either Templars or Mages they should be able to appear on the levels as well walking around in small groups. Basically I was mostly thinking is that since camps are set up in mostly every map would it be possible to have more of the Inquisition troops about? Also make the requisitions for the troops on the field take more of an effect, meaning upgrading their weapons and armor through the requisitions. So could this be possible?

 It's already there.

Maybe I am not seeing them but like in Hissing waste there are none just camps. Again I might not be seeing them.

Are you playing on an Old Gen console by any chance? Because if you are, then you won't be seeing a great lot of people that actually exist in the game.

PC and yes my computer is able to handle this game and than sum.

"then some". In that case, I can't help you. Presumably you should be able to see everything better than New Gen consoles even. Try a clean install? Who knows, it might help.

I don't think that is the problem, like I said some areas it works and some areas it doesn't. It might be still be patched in later for more details. I am not sure.

What do you mean patched in later? We all get the same patches. The game is the same for everyone. Except for the old gens. But you said you're on the PC. If you think you're missing something, re-install and re-patch.

Nevermind I heed my discussion, btw the game was reinstalled two days ago and is patched to the latest.

A lot of the activity was scaled back because of the old-generation consoles. You shouldn't expect any major improvements until the next game (it's always going to be very small groups and aggressive un/loading).

What you describe are just random encounters (they spawn using the same rules as enemies you'd normally encounter).

Thank you someone who understands, yeah because I remember something about an army management system being talked about in blogs before this game was released.

Which I did not see, would be nice to see something like this after all the patching is done and close or with the release of the next DLC either way being leader and fortifying your troops with armaments would me cool with things you collect out on the battlefield. I just hope there is more encounters or more to do with your troops.

I would say that the chance of them doing anything to the existing areas is as close to zero as you can get.

The Frostback Basin area (from the Jaws of Hakkon DLC) is a little better, so future DLC areas could be improved as far as having more NPC activity (if they even do another exploration area).

  I am not quite sure what you mean on this. Because as I clear area's I start seeing more, and more I guess you would say friendly people wandering the roads (Non Combative).

   The wastland type area's not so much maybe, but then they were not truly populated much anyway, and the evil people were only there for the ruin's, as I understood it.

 

  In fact it makes returns to some area's mostly peaceful.

 

  As to the Armor, and weapons upgrades for these friendly people. I don't know as mostly they are non combative it would make much, if any change.

 

  And if added to the game would just add another menu to spend hours in trying to figure out just the right combination of Items, which gets rather tedious, and boring after a short time.

Yes I think the OP means they want to see more signs that they control areas they've pacified and they want to see more of their soldiers patrolling areas along roads, around camps and so forth.

 

As for armour and weapon upgrades they're talking about for inquisition troops and some effect from some of the requisitions you fill, or more requisitions focused on improving troops and camps. For example if you fill a requisition for better tents you should see different tents at your camps and so on the next time you return. If it's new materials for armour maybe you see a difference in their armour or hear the other troops in your camps commenting about how much sturdier the new armour is or something. It would certainly be better than some of the requisitions at the moment and maybe give you more incentive to care about completing them too. 

 

Or maybe this is what I would have liked to see and I just thought it's what the OP meant, either way it would be nice if it's possible in the future.  :)

Reqs also increase your "fame" thing by which you buy perks, and is extremely low without them.

It really, really isn't.

The inquisition army is done terribly. It feels like they're borderline absent except for a few random guys and that stupid requisition officer, whose requisitions don't actually change anything.

+2 power is not a meaningful replacement for real content.

I am glad to see this is being talked about, this was a feature that was supposed to be in the game but was removed. A system where we can outfit our troops by what we collect, upgrading our camps and what not else. Commanding them I don't really see the need to but able to have the walk around the map scout out areas report details of enemies when enter certain areas of the map, but not much as help out with your quest but be able to walk about collect materials fight off groups of enemies. 3 or 4 inquisition troops mixed between standard soldier to mage. That was talked about before the game release now it is dubed down to run consoles. This can be patchd in I just don't know why bioware can't do this.

This is what was blogged about before the game was release:


Like the two earlier entries in the role-playing franchise before it, Dragon Age: Inquisition will let players control a squad of NPC companions. However, the third installment of the Bioware series will go one step further by giving players hundreds of inquisitor agents to issue commands to. According to a report by Official Playstation Magazine on Jan 3, a recent demo of the game illustrated exactly how fans will be able to command their in-game army to fit their own needs.

Dragon Age: Inquisition Bioware

The demo showed off the aftermath that resulted after capturing an enemy keep. By defeating the faction who previously held the encampment, the inquisitor was able to take control of the keep for themselves. This is where the game’s army management system came into play. As head of an army, the player-controlled inquisitor could then decide how many NPC agents to garrison in the keep. Depending on how many troops are ordered to maintain a keep, different options appear for how to make use of the soldiers. For example, 10 agents are required to build a mine that will generate revenue to fund the campaign. Those looking to strengthen their foothold over an area can choose to command 50 agents to build a colossus that will boost morale and make a player’s army fight harder in that area.

These are just a few examples of how gamers will be able to utilize their NPC troops. It shows that players can expect to command an army made of hundreds of agents in addition to the small party who they will adventure with. How players decide to utilize their army will add another layer of choice that Bioware titles strive to provide fans.
