I thought they retracted and said that it's possible for the Frostbite to run on Wii U. It currently has 3.6 millions Wii U owners. Porting is a lot easier than creating a new game. Now that they're done, and it needs to do is porting it onto the Wii U. While it's not as powerful as PS4 or Xboxone, it should be able to handle to low setting of PS3 and Xbox360.
Will the game be ported to Wii U?

Isn't the Wii U some sort of tablet add-on for a Wii?

After doing some checking, EA dropped all support of the Wii U in 2013, and had no plans on releasing games at all for the console. They've backtracked and said that they might help with Nintendo based games. Bethesda dropped support in 2013 as well due to the limited hardware. Ubisoft did the same thing, citing poor sales (it is, comparing it to the Wii.) Activision is one of the few AAA companies left making games for the Wii U.
@Wolf The Wii U is it's own console that comes with a game pad.

I can't exactly blame them, since Nintendo is dead set on doing the dumb thing in all cases. Plus, the port of ME3 was bad, didn't get any DLC, and missed out on the previous two games anyway.
It would be nice if Nintendo would just release a timely console with an normal controller, and not 8 year old tech wrapped in a gimmick that loses it's luster after one game.

Nintendo is known for making casual games that are for kids and having a mature game on that console would make moms complain.
Heh.
