There are going to be tears if Fallout 4 comes out this year and dominates the GOTY and RPG awards.

 

And there would be a flood if Fallout 4 comes out this year and doesn't dominate GOTY and RPG awards.

 

To be honest if Fallout 4 does come out this year I would not be surprised if it did win GOTY, not because it deserves to but because of the potential backlash that is likely to occur if it doesn't, Bethesda fans can get pretty rabid.

 

That said if Fallout 4 (or any other game for that matter) does come out this year and wins GOTY because it truly deserves to I see no reason to be upset, as I said before if there is another game that comes out this year and manages to knock the Witcher 3 off it's perch then it will be a damn good year in the games industry.

When IS the event that decides on which game is GOTY? 

 

I'm going to assume its end of the year time.

 

Also do they only class games that have been out for a specific time before the event? 

 

As in, lets say a game comes out a month before the Event. Can it be counted as a GOTY contender, or does the game(s) have to be out for a longer period of time?

Technically there is no official event to decide GOTY, every website does their own list and some sites like Giantbomb have multiple lists + guest lists, then a consensus list they argue about in a podcast so you can hear their opinions. The closest thing to an event is the awards show thing run by Geoff Kheighley (sp?).

Call of Duty: Blacks Ops 3

Yes, black ops 3 will likely be goty material. But that depends ofcourse if real camping is possible with assault shield and tropy systems, and microwave+sentry combo with claymores like in bo2.   singleplayer is going to be good im sure, bo2 and aw had exellent campaings.

 

 

So far witcher 3 is easily biggest goty material so far. Fo4 doesnt surpass it thats sure even it looked nice, but clearly w3 is miles ahead.

 

 

Well, thats about it. There isnt any other worthy games. 3 good games, i dont even remember when was a year when there was that many good titles.

On serious note(Actually i was serious about FM, wasted my whole life time to these games since 2000) probably GTA 5 will win every single thing. From best game to best graphics, story, gameplay, characters, multiplayer whatever.

 

People love Rockstar Games and sometimes overrate their products. No, i got my pre-order from PSN, probably gonna get PC version in due time aswell but still...

People love Rockstar Games and sometimes overrate their products. No, i got my pre-order from PSN, probably gonna get PC version in due time aswell but still...

 

And you thought you're a manager... without actually seeing one match in the game. You could do it with FIFA and sometimes play and enjoy scoring some goals...

 

Yeah, GTA V is quite enjoyable. Still I don't like Trevor (he has a screwed up personality and has conflict with others). I've done 60% already.

Do you see that Assault, run and gunning towards your choice for GOTY? Well, imagine, there happen to be 2 (that's TWO in words) Squadsight snipers, ready to unleash the PAIN when the Assault had his way.

 

Of course, XCOM's victory in the fight for GOTY depends on whether or not Max will be around to Rewind. No amount of Witcherooooo's going to save anyone when facing someone who can REWIND GOD DAMN TIME.

 

 

 

Also, Blops 3 for CTRL+C/CTRL+V OTY.

Arkham's gonna have to be ridiculous to dethrone Witcher from being my personal GOTY, but it could do the trick. I'm skeptical as to whether Fallout's making it out before the end of the year.

Tsk tsk. We have 2d engine since 2003 and 3d engine since 2009.

 

While i love Fifa aswell, FM is a different beast. More tactical than all other sports games combined.

 

Even Solksjaer is a fan and admitted that FM tactics he used helped him while managing Molde

Personally right now Life is strange is my frontrunner at this point but could change depending if both the episode are bad or at least the final episode then bloodborne  even though I still haven't beat it though i am still confident I will finish it before the end of this year then witcher 3 I like the world but i just don't feel it and I have no idea whats going on witcher 2 made me think so thing weren't how they are and I can't enjoy the story

Pretty sure The Witcher 3 will win. But it might get some very good competition. The new Arkham game, for example. And the Tomb Raider game.
