i admit it is a ballsy move on Bethesda's part. 

no, you only have a spoon, you can upgrade it to a spork after 3/4 of the game

I'm not going to concern myself with unofficial information, since it won't make any difference in the long run, anyway.

 

If it turns out that there isn't a creator, or that it is restricted to a specific gender/voiced protagonist, then I'll get the game used when it comes down to $15 or something. I won't be making that decision until this info is confirmed or refuted (or both) so there's no point in me worrying about it, for now.

 

But it would be disappointing to find out that they even considered going this route, regardless of the eventual outcome.

The reddit post is a flat out lie and was written by a troll. Jason at Kotaku has already stated that he has insider information stating that there will be a female voiced protagonist as well. There is also no way that someone who got fired would say to "give their username to people at Bethesda, they can confirm I worked there" that would be a straight ticket to a lawsuit (especially since they allegedly broke the NDA by accident). 

 

So don't sweat it, the Reddit post is as fraudulent as I owning a small country.

  If you’re telling me I can’t play as my preferred gender anymore because they spent the entire budget voicing a dude, I’m going to be really miffed.

  Don’t stress it. The casting documents I saw featured voiced male and female protagonists.

Boy I have difficulty believing it will be male only or voiced protagonist. That goes so completely against the grain of emergent roleplaying the Bethesda Games Studios has mastered. It would be really lame to see such a great RPG franchise turn into another generic story-driven game. Roleplaying is pretty ****** hard to find, even in the roleplaying game genre, so losing Fallout would be monumental loss for roleplaying. ugh.. makes me sick just to think about.

Its most likely just a rumor to kick a few hornets nests. But I'm of the belief game companies have the right to do what they wish with their tittles and the success and failure is on them for the result.

After games like fifa are taking big steps forward by introducing females and assassin's creed figuring out it needs to be an option it would be insane to think fallout 4 would go backwards. If it is the case then it won't go down well at all and it would be one of they're worse backslashes.

I don't think it will be the case though.

Unity had a playable female character?

 

But that said if this rumor were true (not that I think it is) I doubt it would be just the Tumblrinas crying foul and not because of "equality" or "women's rights".

While fully voiced protagonist is completely possible at this point, I very much doubt it will be male only. If AC Unity caused such outrage just for the lack of female playable character, imagine Fallout, were we previously aways had the chance to play as female. I don't think Bethesda would shoot themselves in the foot like this, especially considering how much they are trying to make this game as faithful as possible to the style of the previous ones.

After the Mass Effect trilogy there's not many excuses for voiced protagonists in rpg's, even more so if the campaign is linear.
