Unity had a playable female character?

But that said if this rumor were true (not that I think it is) I doubt it would be just the Tumblrinas crying foul and not because of "equality" or "women's rights".

I dont play Assassans Creed sorry if i mixed em up.

No one said it would just be them calling foul. i play female all the time truse me i would be p*ssed. but i wouldnt call the lack of option to play one a stap in the eyesocket to ALL women and anothet kick in the face by the patriarchy.

The reddit post is a flat out lie and was written by a troll. Jason at Kotaku has already stated that he has insider information stating that there will be a female voiced protagonist as well. There is also no way that someone who got fired would say to "give their username to people at Bethesda, they can confirm I worked there" that would be a straight ticket to a lawsuit (especially since they allegedly broke the NDA by accident).

So don't sweat it, the Reddit post is as fraudulent as I owning a small country.

Jason at Kotaku just posted this article on the situation: http://kotaku.com/la...e-bs-1709009561

From the article: "SandraReed claimed that you’ll only be able to play with a male protagonist, but we learned back in 2013 that Bethesda was auditioning for both male and female heroes, as we wrote back then. She also wrote that Bethesda would reveal Fallout 4 with a “trailer only” at E3 2015; instead, we saw a trailer before E3 and will likely see a substantial demo during Bethesda’s presser on June 14."

and

"PS. I leaked some of the first Fallout 4 info by accident, and it ended up in the hands of Kotaku. Oops."

"We can definitively say this part isn’t true. The only Fallout 4 leak we posted revolved around a set of casting documents we received in 2013, two of which we posted on Kotaku. Those documents did not come from anyone at Bethesda Game Studios. Nobody named Sandra Reed has leaked anything to us or to anyone else who shared any information with us."

I'll wait for official confirmation.

Personally, I'm glad they now have a voiced protagonist, maybe they'll develop some personality for them.

Congratulations, you have officially missed the point of Fallout. You're supposed to use your imagination, decide what your character's personality is and what they sound like yourself. Play as a completely different kind of person every time.

^This, same goes for The Elder Scrolls. When I got bored of Skyrim, I went back for one more game anyway. My goal was to murder every single character that lived in all the cities and that didn't have essential status (Xbox 360). I pulled it off without ever being seen and left a single vegetable on each of their bodies as my calling card, it was extremely satisfying and made the game feel entirely new.

After the Mass Effect trilogy there's not many excuses for voiced protagonists in rpg's, even more so if the campaign is linear.

While I have little problem with a voiced protagonist (or a silent one for that matter), I wouldn't hold Mass Effect up as a great example, given the sheer amount of autodialogue later in the trilogy or identical responses in the earlier portions.

That was more Bioware writing themselves into a corner though, they had to wrap up plots so big in scale they were forced to strip some of the player's involvement and not because they skimped out on VA budget.

Well a voiced protag in Fallout 4 will probably be saying the lines as they are written. Which i think is a good thing. We don't need any conversation tree or something like that. Give us full control of what we are saying and i for one won't mind a voiced protag. We'll see when E3 hits.

I have three words for all the people in this thread insisting that having a voiced protagonist and a focus on story can only be an improvement. Metroid. Other. M.

Um, all I can see she got right was it being set in Boston (though if you played Fallout 3 you would know that they were setting up so much stuff for it and it was fairly obvious). Other than that and the E3 announcement (which, lets be honest is as predictable as the damn tides) I am not seeing much that she got right. No mention of Vault 111 and her mention of last gen ports is completely erroneous.

Now, lets just say that this leak is true and it flies in the face of Bethesda's entire style for building a game and that this person has credibility. Guess what, this person sounds like someone who doesn't deserve to be employed. If you so casually leak company secrets in a way that makes it incredibly obvious who you actually are, it looks like you were just asking to be blacklisted. And considered the reason that she was fired (revealing confidential information but it was an accident jk lol) that may just be the most believable thing about this post.

I hope you can't play as a female, but you can fully customize your MALE character. Just to watch all the SJW's cry like the pieces of trash they are

Obviously the only solution is to only be able to play as a hermaphrodite.

A fully customizable one, of course.

Thanks for reminding me of just how out of control the culture wars are getting within the gamer community. It always makes me sad to hear people say they want developers to take fun features out of their games for petty, political reasons like this. It's like the guys from Critical Miss said, video games aren't the battleground in this fight anymore, they're the ammunition.

If it's removed then people have full right to complain since the biggest part of FO was making a character and having alot of freedom with them. This goes all the way back to the first game. For Bethesda to do that with FO4, they are basically telling FO fans to sod off.

Of course people like RZIBARA (who are no better then the SJWs) fail or refuse to understand and slap on the tired excuses.
