Is it just me or do all of the actual armor helmets look way too big? It looks like a child is wearing it. The caps and things that are less armor and more cloth etc, those seem to look fine, but the helmets that are made of metal all look too large. I originally though it was because I was playing a dwarf and I was like "that makes sense" so I turned helmets off cause I thought it looked too comical but I turned them back for a non dwarf character and the same issue exists. Is it just me?

I love the big scout thing that makes my inquisitor look like a conquistador ;-). And my beautiful resolute hat =).

The scout helmet is actually kind of cool, though I'd only ever equip Varric with it (dunno why but I feel it looks kind of awesome on him). But my favorite is the default icon helmet. My only real issue with it is that the "wings" that wrap around the face seem to extend pretty far down the neck. Looks like the Inquisitor would just get stabbed in the chest if s/he spots a copper. But overall I prefer the helmets here. With the exception of the grey warden helmet in Origins, everything else was just a basic noggin bucket.

Don´t wear the inquisitor helmet in a dog or cow infested area ;-)

I dunno. I think they did pretty well this time around. If I had to make a real complaint, however, it would be with the skull cap under certain things, like the Inquisitor hat. Man I hate that leather cap.

Blackwall has one of my favorite helmets. Too bad it's exclusive to him, even among other Grey Wardens, who have really terrible helmets now, with those ridiculous wings.

Yeah, the cap is awful. I'd take a bit of clipping between hat and hair over that thing.

One other helmet related complaint: show helmets toggle should be a per character thing not global. I'd love to be able to see Bull's vitar and Viv's horns without having too look at the turban Solas is wearing at the present in my game....

Lies and slander. The Grey Warden helmet looks awesome.

Not that I'd ever equip it. :D

Only thing that really bothered me about helmets was that the toggle was for the whole party instead of for individual members - I often found myself wanting Vivienne's hat to be visible but wanting my character's to be invisible and having to choose which.

It should be a simple enough implementation.

I cannot agree more! I am in the exact same situation. I think Vivienne's helmet is by far one of the best in the game - as well as Iron Bull's unique helm - and I would love to be able to keep these turned on whilst having my Inquisitor's off.

Vivienne's helmet makes her entire look - she still looks awesome with it off, but not as awesome.

I so agree. The hat is so pretty, but that leather thing makes it look like a weird wig.

Being able to switch helmets on/off on each chara would be cool. Cause I love seeing Cassandra's face, but at the same time I wanted to see my Adaar's Vitaar in my first PT. (I like Vitaars, at least most of them)

Note: NEVER give Blackwall the Helm of the Dragon Hunter from JoH. The Helmet is awesome, but his face clips through it and it looks like he tried to forcefully push his face through jail bars.  :pinched:

My dwarf inquisitor is wearing that dragon-hunter helm now, and it suits him.  Tinted in the same coppery color as his armor.  No clipping, but that nose must feel the front grate painfully.  Huge axe completes the look.  He'd be right at home with The Lost Vikings.  :)

I wish vitaar could be turned off. Most of them are ugly as hell and make my character's nice face get covered by garbage. Especially the nasty green ones that cover the whole face, makes her look like she dipped her face in a bucket of paint. I've forced myself to use crappy ones just because a better one looked terrible. My current level 14 one is good looking though... But we'll see how long that lasts. It will get get outclassed eventually, and hopefully the better and higher leveled ones look decent too.

There's a setting that will hide helmets, and that includes the Qunari facepaint. It's global though so in order to turn off face paint you have to turn off all head armor.

You sure? It's already supposed to turn off helmets in cutscenes, yet every cutscene has my qunari with the vitaar visible. It it doesn't when off in cutscenes, why would it for the global-off setting? I'll try it, but I don't expect it will work.

Wait, what? Wanna try again without murdering grammar? All I know is there is a hide helmets option in the interface menu. It turns off all head armor for the inquisitor as well as all party members. If it's bugged and the vitaar is still showing in cutscenes, well I'm sorry. Bug report it.

Nothing was wrong with my grammar, ass. If you have a problem, blame your own reading comprehension. Helmets are ALREADY supposed to be invisible during cutscenes, but vitaar is visible anyway despite that. Everyone in the party lacks helmets in cutscenes except on my own character. So why would "off" make any difference for cutscenes when "off in cutscenes" doesn't make vitaar visible?

my setting: off in cutscenes or conversations

result-visible vitaar in cutscenes

So why then would off in gameplay and cutscenes make them invisible if the other setting that is also supposed to doesn't? I'm about to get back to the game and see if turning helmets to universally off in both cutscenes and gameplay, so I'll see then.

Helmets are off in cutscenes anyway (or at least I think they are). Vitaar is hidden by hide helmet

Ugly helmets is a must in the series. That's one thing consistent in all 3 games.

Yeah, I usually don't care for any of the headgear in Dragon Age titles. I just hide them and use them like "Stat Sticks".
