However, I think the USAF should have kept quiet about finding the base through the selfie, maybe they would have been dumb enough to post another one.

To paraphrase Napoleon, "When your opponent is making a mistake, don't interrupt him".

Apparently so..

Amazing the number of Caucasians in ISIS. Stupid knows no bounds

Wait, ISIS is recruiting from the Caucasus mountains now?

Just on the self driving cars.   Downside is that cars could be hacked..

Already cars with wifi on board can be hacked. Of course why the hell do you need that in a car?

Give it time, soon the first generation of smart cars will be released to the public.

We are doomed, doomed I say.
They shall rise up against their creators in a bloody war of retribution. Mankind will be shackled and forced into servitude to the very machines that once were our means of transportation.

I think watching Initial D while you're driving is a great idea. Xzibit approved.

I would kill to be the first cab company to own a fleet of self driving cars. You can keep them on be road all day and night and undercut every other cab company by not having to pay a driver and only pay for gas (bonus points if your cars are electric and you rig up your business garage with high grade solar panels for the cheapest route possible). You can afford to have more cars on the road and reduce the number of accidents your fleet is involved in.

Ditto for a semi-truck fleet under the same premise. Slight variation - you'd probably need to have a hub in each region where human drivers can go in and take the goods the last leg of the journey, as handling a semi to get into loading bays is something machines won't be able to do for quite some time. Still, it turns a semi truck driver's job into a local one that can have them home every night and reduces the number of hours humans are on the clock, saving you millions every year.

The business applications of smart cars are nearly limitless.

Long haul trucking could be done that way and no more driver accidents, fatigue and stuff. Only less jobs

But lower prices for dang near everything. Shipping costs for everything from cars to catsup would be reduced significantly. It would be good for the economy, even if jobs are lost. We're going to be seeing a LOT of jobs lost as we move further and further into automated society. And we're going to see new jobs, jobs that don't even exist today, begin to take their place as human's job becomes directing, repairing and fine tuning the tools we have perform the actual work.

I will say this about war (since this is an ISIS thread)... it makes you utilize every cost and labor saving idea you can even remotely implement because when people are dying, you aren't worried about if someone will still have a job in ten years.

Many Museum are plundered by them. Many Churches and Shia Mosques are destroyed. Many historical sites are damaged by them in Syria and Iraq (from Assyrians, Greeks etc.)

Yeah, they aren't content to simply commit genocide on the Yezidis, Christians, and Shia Muslims, they want to erase any evidence that those groups ever existed. One can make a legitimate comparison between ISIS and the Nazis, and that is terrifying.

I'm gonna resurrect the Assassins Order.

Come, join me and together we shall assassinate all these ISIS scum, plus spread our hidden empire around the world. It will be fun and glorious.

well a half remember fact that there is a relationship between the Nazi and the Middle East groups due to their mutunal hate of the Jewish people so I will not be surprised on that regard with the comparison between ISIS and Nazis.

There's also the commonality that following World War 1, the League of Nations took huge, giant dumps on their ability to rebuild and instill economic progress, which directly caused World War 2. And then following World War 2, they were both shameless divided up between European/Russian interests that further crippled their ability to create a stable region.

So yeah... in those regards, they are exactly like the Germans. Only the Germans benefited from stability of the surrounding Europe, while the Middle East descended into warlord chaos driven by sectarian violence in a region that had previously been one of the most politically stable and culturally diversified empire in Eurasian history.

But yeah, let's just call all Muslims barbarians that should be nuked and not consider that this entire thing is The West's cruel and bloodthirsty actions that sent the whole region to the crapper in the first place.

You can try One America News if you can get it on your cable.

It is free of commercials but it is a right-wing news network. At least their news reporting is more global and not too bias.

Heh, if you want the truth, have fun trying to get that from any media.

The closest you get to truth is by reading and cross referencing several believable sources to filter out perception bias (don't forget your own) and hope that whichever sources you thought are credible enough aren't in fact plain wrong.

You'd think living in what can ostensibly be called the information age, it'd be easier to get informations, but turns out that it's so much harder to find the information you actually want/need and making sure said information is accurate enough amongst the veritable plethora of available sources. Doubly so if anyone's got the inkling that instead of hiding the truth, just smothering the pool with enough disinformation to reduce the chance of anyone actually finding stuff and in the process building up a natural sense of scepticism as whatever you look at could be wrong, biased or missing crucial parts that people can literally hold the truth in front of their eyes and won#t believe it.

It's pretty much the entire world gone crazy and spamming the global inbox with spam ... too many people talking, too little being said.

I don't care much for the details, but I do know that along the way people in and outside the US will complain the US is doing too much and too little. Probably at the same time.
