Warp only gets its damage boost on barriers, armor and health.
Disruptor cuts through shields like butter so a GI is getting through lets say an Atlas' shields faster than if he was using warp but less damage against the armor. On regular enemies like a centurion a claymore GI will get easier one shots using disruptor because he doesn't have to get to health to get the damage boost.
On the trash enemies with shields disruptor is the clear winner bosses is where it gets close.

I won't deny Disruptor is better vs shields, however on the GI build I posted above it is irrelevant, as even Atlas shields are gone in the blink of an eye.

And you are correct about the lack of overall effectiveness of Warp ammo against shields, but most of the tougher enemies have barriers (obv Primes & Atlases are the exceptions), which warp ammo excels against.

Warp ammo mostly helps with Reapers & Collectors. Not Cerberus and Geth.

With that build I'd say drill is better than both so you can steal kills through most walls. Also disruptor gets tech bursts for even more points/skill.

Maybe not ideal vs Geth, but vs Cerberus warp ammo works well. Hi Phantom barrier, hi Dragoons! Warp ammo is very effective against them, and that is 2 of the 3 real threats from that faction.

Disruptor applies to more practical defenses. Warp applies to more of the tanky enemy defenses.

I'm willing to give it a try. My first impression is that giving up an extra %30 damage before the multiplicative damage boosts are applied is quite the sacrifice.

But as you said everything is annihilated with a hurricane gi anyways. Also disruptor can stun mobs to increase survivability for what it's worth.
Also the aoe from tech bursts is nothing to scuff at especially with the proxy mine debuff. More aoe damage = more points/skill.

^ Good point, I do like the larger aoe of the tech burst detonation. Definitely effective against the Geth.

Generally with the GI set up like this though, stunning enemies is not required since they die so quickly

I keep forgetting that points equal skill. That's it, I'm only hosting matches from now on! And will only use a Drell Vanguard or N7 Slayer

An Atlas is the biggest dps soak in the game. And he ain't going down fast until the shields are gone.

I like Disruptor well enough, but use Warp more often. Also, BroJo doesn't use consumables. He kinda stopped playing with the community after he got grief about it. :( Come back, BroJo!

Hi Calvin, meet GI

But GI should always be doing better with disrupter ammo anyway. Plus GI can tech burst with disrupter ammo too.

Wow, that message in the OP was from over a year ago.  I've set a reminder for 6/4/2016 to necro this thread that has a necro within it.  Necroception...

OT - the real problem is obviously that Warp Ammo doesn't prime for Biotic Explosions.  That's the ticket.

Maybe next update?

Hmmm....everybody else is more knowledgeable than me on game mechanics here, so this is just for me personally. I think it depends on the kit obviously warp works well with kits like the Fury or Huntress/biotic kits, but for me, when i pug i will always put disrupter ammo on because at the very least, it will stun lesser enemies and you can get tech-bursts on just about everything with it.

Both ammo powers have advantages and dis-advantages tho...
