Here is what works best for me:

1) Stealth w/ upgrade & the passive that eliminates stealth cooldown on kill

2) Elemental mines w/ stamina eating upgrade for the big boom and the 50 stamina per kill passive

3) Shadow strike, upgraded

4) Ice flask (WITHOUT the taunt upgrade)

Also the passive for improved crit chance from behind is a must

My battle strategy is generally:

I open up by stealthing in and get my positioning -just right- to take out a few with the mines. It's really dicey if you don't take out at least one, so you need to have decent weapon dmg and not be stupid with the mine placement.

After taking out at least one, my stealth has popped from the kill passive and my stamina is good from the other kill passive, so I play pseudo-assassin style by taking out the archers and other soft targets w/ big crits from their flank and instant stealth after the kill.

If something has gone poorly with the stealth kills or I otherwise see a good chance to deploy ice flask, I kick on the ice armor and shadow strike shatter or just chew through large groups in relative safety until the flask wears off, then it's back to stealth.

Sometimes I'll swap out the mines for a 2nd detonating ability if I feel like being a combo machine instead, but in general I just find mines are more fun (and more useful on FC because of the large groups).

I really like the build. It has fantastic survivability and tolerance for mistakes, racks up the kill count, earns lots of bonus xp for support and combos, and in general is JUST.PLAIN.FUN

For gear, I usually wear one HoK ring just in case, a crit damage or crit chance ring, and whatever for necklace and belt

I had SO much fun the other day. We were doing perilous runs with 4 alchemist on Orlesian Chateau and everything went BOOM BOOOM BOOOOM!!!

The core builds were always:
1) Elemental mines
2) Fire flask
3) Ice flask

Then people either used:
4.1) Shadowstrike (shatter combo)
4.2) Flank Attack (perma stealth)

When we had 1 party member leave and a new one joined, his imminent response, once he saw the group composition: "Oh my lord!".

Rarely have I heard so much laughter, giggling and active microphone banter. I highly recommend it to all.

This was marvelous. Does anyone have any idea how many mines 4 alchy's can spam?

Frost flask, followed immediately by fire flask then mine spam.

Knee deep in mines, drowning in laughter as they go off.

Absolutely most fun I've had in this game. Try it!

The passive ride the storm adds 3s to a flask's duration when you use it immediately after another flask ends.

Stealth and Flask of Frost seem pretty much required. And with that, Shadow Strike is too good to pass up. Today I grouped with an elementalist who actually froze things, and it was shatter wombo combos everywhere.

Right now my fourth ability is Evade. I guess people frown on that because you can just run, but it just seems better when hitting bosses quickly and getting out of their AOEs.

It's too bad skittles bombs is so often bumped off the list by other great abilities. It's fun to use, especially with the upgrade. Too bad they don't like to explode under the dragon.

Wasn't there a passive that removes the cooldown on stealth after you kill an enemy? I thought I saw it but now I can't find it... Edit: NVM I found it: "I was never here"

Both Flasks, Mines and Shadow Strike. All upgraded.

Dragon dagger main, Audacity off.(all crit damage grip)

Sup Cool down Amulet, Belt of health(best you have), rings - Sup HOK and Crit Damage.

Settled on this build after trying just about everything getting her banner.

Frost, SS, Fire, Mines. Rinse/Repeat. Sets off own combos with Frost/SS, Mines into groups, checkpoints.

Frost trivializes VC, Dragon can be hit by mines, but is tricky. Get underneath using Frost, SS, Fire, throw mines.

I grew to like her quite a bit, even more so when in a group of 4 all throwing mines.

Heaps of fun.

sounds really funny - will have to try it out...

only thing: I'd live in constant fear that the MONSTER BOOM BOOM would harm my PC ^^

I have played and promoted alchemist the most by far of any of the classes and I always find myself going back to the same build (after trying out many different ones).

I use stealth, frost flask, knockout bomb & shadow strike. I always see people on the boards saying how weak the alchemist is compared to the other classes but I would honestly disagree wholeheartedly with that.

This is my normal build and thankfully I can now go back to it after slaving away at the poison objective.

Knockout bomb and frost flask can almost neutralize a whole spawn from initial attacks.  Toss bomb on one half of the spawn, hit flask and attack 2nd half.  Also a real boon vs bosses because the vent leader has a problem with frost attacks, red trampler leader has a problem with the knock out bomb and shadow strike puts big damage on the demon commander.

I like the sound of that. I have been using frost/SS against the VC. Wasn't sure what the RTC was vulnerable to. Against the DC I have been using stealth/SS, swing a few times if I can and Evade away when he starts to scream.

Frost flask is also super useful against the Arcane horror. He just stays perma-frozen while you stab him to death.

In the two flask build, Knockout Bomb is something I definitely miss. After this promote, I might try the Stealth/FoFrost/SS/KoB build. Jellybean spam is just so fun tho. I love that sound when people walk over them.

I don't think we ever got a strait answer on what Alchemy mastery does. I'm not even sure how I'd test this. I could probably easily time how long FoFrost freezes for but the status affects inflicted by mines might be a little harder to time with a stop watch.

Hello BSN!

I have recently finished my poison challenge drudgery and quite conveniently, I am at lvl 19 and I am looking to my next promotion. I can now leave my Stealth/PW/PC/KB build behind that I was using to farm kills and switch to something more interesting. What sorts of builds do people use nowadays for little Luka?

I have a handful of questions:

-What kind of builds are you all using and seeing success with?

-Has anyone tried a stealthless double flask build like this:

http://da-skills.net...110,00100,1D1,0

FoFire+EM spam / FoFrost+SS for shatter so you always have a combo to use and you aren't waiting for cooldowns.

-Anyone know what Alchemy Mastery does? What would be a "status effect caused by your alchemy"? Is this poison? Flask Freeze effect? Does it extend the chill/burning/shock on EM?

I really don't like many rogues. I think the Alchemist is fun and could see myself promoting her many times if I can find a good non-gimpy build that will work in perilous. I'd love to hear what you guys think about making the trash tier class not so trashy.

-----UPDATE 6/17/15-----

I have played this build for a few promotions and can give some more detail.

Final Build: (lvl 19)

http://da-skills.net...010,00100,121,0

Unlock order:

I will usually beeline for upgraded FoFire (level7)

Then upgrade mines (level8)

Then grab FoFrost (level9) -no upgrade

After that I work my way down to upgraded shadow strike (level3)

Then just build in the rest of the passives starting with Ride the storm, Easy to miss, then Killer's Alchemy.

This build is very centered around active abilities and the passives are just really icing on the cake with the exception of Ride the storm which will greatly increase the synergy.

Playstyle:

This build really shines on maps like FC when you turtle in one place (rooms to the side in wave 3 and 4, Font stairs area in wave 5) so you can predict where enemies are coming from.

I will usually litter the entrance with mines using FoFire and EM, then pop FoFrost in between, using shadow strike to shatter and reduce Cooldowns (it's easy to run around to the flank of a frozen pack of enemies. By the time your Frost flask is out, usually it is only a few seconds before the Mines are back up and you can repeat. If you are conscious about it, you can hold off doing your last EM to leave it off cooldown, allowing you to recast FoFire faster (if you do hit the last mines after the Flask wears off, you tend to have to wait until the ride the storm passive wears off before you can re-Fire flask and litter with mines).

If you have a mob that is immune to freezing, you can pop FoFire and spam them with Shadow strike. This is usually ineffective as Shadow strike doesn't do very much damage at it's base without bonuses but I have found this better than auto attacking. This is mostly an issue with Brutes, Fear demons, pride demons, Red templar knights. That said if you can set your mines effectively, this is the better way to burn them down if it is not on cooldown and there are no range restrictions (you'd throw your mines past them.

Frost Flask is particularly good for taking out Arcane horrors as they constantly get refrozen over the duration of the flask, allowing you and your team to burst him down with no trouble.

Weaknesses:

As I have mentioned in posts below, there are some essential weaknesses in the build to be aware of.

-Mobs that are immune to freezing (mentioned above).

-You have to be very careful and tactical about where to put your mines. It takes some getting used to but judging the distance and trajectory of an incoming foe can spell success with the mines. Miss and they lie uselessly on the ground.

-Dragons. The mines do not seem to affect the dragon (not sure if a bug or not). And shadow strike is mostly useless. You need to rely on your team to DPS the Dragon. The Dragonlings, however, are like sheep to be slaughtered.

Conclusion:

This is a fun and slightly unorthodox build that allows you to take advantage of the synergy in the alchemy tree. It helps provide damage, survivability, CC, and combos. I highly recommend it to anyone that wants to try something new that completely Differentiates the Alchemist from the Assassin.

http://da-skills.net...111,00000,000,0

Here is my build. I hope that link works.

My skills are frost flask, fire flask, stealth, and mines.

Tactics:

-Jump in and out of battle often with ice flask (cc's mobs for your team too)

-stealth away when ice flask is down

-mine choke points

-rinse and repeat

weapons of choice:

-wicked grace for poison cloud procs and jacarta's revenge for heal on hits with your mines and automatic revival if you die

- other option: replace the dragon dagger for wicked grace and put the other two points somewhere else for higher DPS

47 promotions with my alchemist

You could also play the arcane warrior and bounce the skittles right back at the alchemist for the kill with your spirit blade! ^_^

For best results, you could always play as Dragon Age servers, and disconnect them in zone 5.
