I would call it "The Ruined Realms".

a REASON that all the Gods would unite together.

I would suggest the Tharizdun idea, myself.  Say that Mankind had freed him from his imprisonment

The Gods have to band together to re-imprision/defeat Tharizdun (which causes unbelievable damage to both Toril and the Planes) and the surviving Gods decide to punish the Prime Material for the deed.

https://en.wikipedia.../wiki/Tharizdun

The Gods, in a desperate last bid to contain Tharizdun, bound him to Toril itself, which caused massive disruption planetwide.  Continents were broken, seas sundered, and calamities of all sorts broke out.  Populations were reduced to less than 1%, and survival became the only important thing to those still alive.

Due to the imprisoning of Tharizdun, the Gods then retreated from Toril, leaving it's inhabitants to their fate.  The ways to the Crystal Sphere itself were closed, and it became a dead, isolated place...alone, without gods or means of escape.  Only Tharizdun remained, imprisoned, but alive...

I kinda like this idea. I just wanted to make up something that would help what I wanted to have happen to fit in the forgotten realms setting.

I mostly played Dark Sun so I really don't know any of the Forgotten Realms lore.

Question were the Gods from Forgotten Realms over another planet other then Abeir-Toril? I was thinking that it would be easier and I would have far more freedom if I was to make another planet that the Forgotten Realms Gods governed over along with the planet of Abeir-Toril.

Well, some of the gods of the Forgotten Realms setting are the same gods from the Greyhawk setting, like Gruumsh One-Eye, Moradin, and Corellon Larethian.  I don't know how they explain this, but it may be that they keep an eye on multiple worlds.

Ok I have read over what you all have posted and came up with this.

The Ruined Realms

Syithus is a blue and green planet made up of snow covered peeks, lush green forest, vast deserts, and deep blue oceans. Syitus is a lot like its sister planet Abeir-Toril when it comes to the landscape and sharing the same Gods.  While Abeir-Toril is loved by the Gods, Syithus is more like the Gods red headed step child.  See at some point mankind on Syithus united and freed Tharizdun from his imprisonment. The Gods were so furious that they banded together to defeat and reimprisoned Tharizdun. This caused unbelievable damage to both Syithus and the Planes. The surviving Gods decided to punish Syithus for what they had done. So they contain/bound Tharizdun into the very core of Syithus, which caused massive disruption planet wide. Continents were broken, seas sundered, and calamities of all sorts broke out. The humanoid population was reduced to less than one percent and mankind was on the verge of becoming extinct. As if this wasn’t enough, hundreds of thousands of new deadly creatures were released upon the planet making it even harder for the humanoids to stay alive.  The Gods did this by design, for they made sure in order for mankind too survive on Sythus they would need the help of the Gods.

Yea, though the gods were cunning in this. For they knew that for their own survival they needed worshippers, without which their power and even their very lives depended on it.

TR: not exactly, if they share other worlds, they don't need "blasphemers" from some shady planet. Aber-Toril worshippers should be more than enough for them. At least for those that count and can make decisions that is. It could be a nice theme of some forgotten Syithus-only gods that slowly wither away because their worshippers were slaughtered by other gods. Might even be more helpful than Aber-Toril gods :)

Right “ Tarot Redhand “ because even if they still have worshippers on Aber-Toril some Gods could help tip the balance if they were to pick up enough followers from Syithus. There for some Gods would care more (be scheming) if mankind survived on Syithus.

I see what you’r saying “ Werelynx “. If there are some Gods who are fading or have faded away (lack of followers/worshipers) on Aber-Toril that it would really be beneficial for them to have dedicated followers on Syithus. There for in return they help mankind out on Syithus more than the other Gods who don't really need the followers. So I guess in the end only the Gods who would be willing to help mankind on Syithus would be the ones that needed the followers or the ones who are scheming to tip the odds in their favor.

Possibly, but you ought to look at the history of Sharess/Felidae/Zandilar/Bast (all one and the same goddes) who originally came from Earth. When the connection between here and the forgotten Realms closed Bast became 2 godess's which were the same (one for the realms and one for Earth).

It's true, though they've sort of swept under the carpet that the Forgotten Realms were originally accessible from Earth.

My info was based on a couple of 2ed source books - "Old Empires" and "Powers and Pantheons", the latter of which is a companion to "Faiths and Avatars". From these books it seems that the trans-dimensional travel only became available about 400 years after the earliest days of the realms. Not having read them for ages I can't recall when the gateway closed.

Ok I read over that page on the wikia about Sharess

So are you saying some of the gods could have split into two different Gods one for Aber-Toril and one for Syithus?

Or

Just have Sharess split again?

Are you saying make it so during this time something happen causing a splitting of the two planets tapping the gods on ones side or the other?

Some of the gods could have split, some may not have made the journey, some could indeed be trapped on one side or the other and finally some could be from Syithus and not Aber-Toril in the first place. It's all down to you. You are making a parallel version of Toril that is not identical in all respects, after all.

Well thanks for the help its always better to brainstorm with others and see what you can come up with. I have to say I do like where this is going. Its going to give me a little Forgotten Realms feel yet freedom to make it my own world (different cities and landscape). Which is what I needed when using the NWN platform and not wanting to rewrite everything (Gods, Class, Races, and so on).

One thing I would change. Instead of TRoR I would change it to RoR - Realms of Ruins (or even RoaR - Realms of Ancient Ruins), so that we avoid people thinking I have anything to do with this. :)
