I should not have laughed at this comment, but I did. I have to say that with Vivienne being our first black female companion in the franchise, I was both surprised and upset by their decision not have her romanceable (no matter what her personality type was meant to be)? Disappointing!

I kind of like her story, even if she's not my favorite party member. Her and the duke is... unexpected and sweet.

That an RPG can get away with awful writing and broken mechanics if it is progressive enough.

Nothing personally. It is just pure entertainment. I will say the games had plenty of Redemption opportunities.

Totally on target. I like learning more about Solas, but would never trust him.

My husband pegged Solas when we watched the Dawn Will Come cut scene. When you walk out to talk with him, Solas leaves no footprints in the snow when you do.

Wow! I missed that. I'm going to have to play it again to see it.

That Bioware should return to their linear level design because they don't seem to be able to include interesting content, e.g. good quests, in a game with open areas.

In Thedas death is not final unless you are a lowly peasant or random NPC.    I wouldn't even guarantee that burning to ash will do it.

Don't bother studiously reading the codices to immerse yourself in the lore  so you can role play your character properly because like as not it will be altered next time round.

Leliana values your opinion in inverse proportion to your status in the world.   When she hardly knows you and you are only just getting going as Herald, if you ask her not to kill someone, she obeys dutifully.    When you have carried all before you and people revere you as their prophet, you have confronted Corypheus, saved Orlais, been to the Fade and back and are viewed as one of the most powerful people in Thedas, if you tell her not to kill someone, she ignores you and cuts their throat.

You never get to ask people the questions you want to ask them because apparently the PC is an idiot and ignores evidence that any sensible person would want to query or share with their inner circle.

Andraste never got to Tevinter with her army; only in chains.   Not to worry though because the Chantry has been supressing the truth about just about everything.

That people are more dedicated to posting on a forum for a game they hate than I am for doing the things I love  it's been 7 months. Move on with your lives.

Ah, and any romance I partake in during my first playthrough of a DA is doomed to failure. Doomed.

That DA has an extremely bi-polar fanbase bordering on being toxic, though the latter is usually the negative but more vocal minority of DA/Bioware complainers.

More that she really didn't have a unique model at the time. I'm unsure if she'd always been intended for DA 2. And honestly Vivienne is much darker than her or Duncan.

gaider said it so it's WOG I believe and that's explainable that she's light skinned like my mother.

That's because Duncan's mother was Rivaini and his father was Orlesian.

What I've learned:

- Trying to learn about your people's ancient history is pointless; you will either get it most of it wrong, or you will get it completely wrong.

- Don't waste your time trying to improve the status of minorities, doing so will either do nothing, or make things worse.

- To make sure that "both sides have a point", you will be given new beliefs out of nowhere that make you look unsympathetic.

 That's totally true, and really, really bugged me. Why can't I fire my advisors if they disobey my direct orders (multiple times)? Oh, right, because everyone has to love Leliana  I mean, you can't even call her out on it like you can to Sera!

To fire Leliana at that point could destroy the Inquisition since she is the spy network and her spies seem to revere her more than the Inquisitor.

True, but DAI won't be the last one.

And to be fair, it is the market made this so.
