Didn't see a general Jewstarter thread, so here this goes.

Seeing how we have a lot of animu pansies and PC Aryans over here, I felt this might be worth dedicating a thread to (don't fret, though, console versions also seem to be planned). Anyway, Regalia - Of Men And Monarchs is a charming-looking Tactical JRPG made by a promising team from Glorious Poland, saviours of the RPG genre. The game seems to be inspired by girly weeb games like Disgaea and Persona, and features both turn-based tactical combat and a relationship system (presumably with romances as well for you degenerates out there).

I could dedicate another few paragraphs to the combat or the other features the game promises to have, but I'm lazy right now so I'll just link you guys to this Kickstarter update so you can read about the finer things yourself. They're only aiming for the reasonable sum of 40,000 USD right now, god bless cheap Polish labor and housing. Stretch goals include animated character portraits and eventually console versions as well.

Feel free to discuss, throw your money at, or complain about the racial makeup if you're from the gaming section.

That guy with the mustache has to go just whatever they end up doing IMO, the only person that gets to do that is a member of the Armstrong line for generations.

Anyway it seems to be directly inspired by FF: Tactics which is fine and all but no idea how close it would be to FF Tactics.

It looks more like the banner saga that Disgaea tbh. Anyways it looks like a pretty interesting mix of of western and japanese styles. I would back it but after Project phoenix fell of the friggin map I don't really want to kickstart stuff anymore.

Yeah what am I saying that's way more Disgaea than FF:T, I must be very wishfully thinking.

Lol, Kaiser - Anyway, looks nothing like Persona to me. It looks more like Banner Saga to me, which always struck me as an interesting strategy-RPG.

Eastern European weebs do exist. Freaky.

It's not RPG Maker, RPG Maker is tile based when it comes to graphics, so all RPG Maker games have a distinct look which is easily recognisable, whereas this looks like handpainted 2D backgrounds with 3D character models. It says on the KS page that they use uFrame for the game. A cursory google search says that uFrame is a game framework for the Unity Engine, so I guess they use Unity. It's not too dissimilar to what Pillars did, though the actual art is quite different of course.

I think I said something about Banner Saga is not that interesting and Heroes V is better... then things happened.

Interesting. Sadly, the only title I would probably back on KS would be a Jade Empire 2 or KOTOR 3. Looking forward to its release though.
