I've got the regular DAO with all DLC unlocked(hopefully), but am intrigued about the Final Reason Staff. Is it worth it to get it for the items, and would you still be able to download the item codes? I hear the codes expired in 2010, but maybe that was referring to the DLC codes.

As a side note you can download many (but not all) of the 'giveaway' items at
http://social.biowar...da2/dlc_bundle/

I've already got all the free DLC items I can get for PS3, but that +10 Spellpower boost is significant for Origins.

One final question before I decide to get the Collector's Edition-are there any item codes that need to be downloaded. I read on Amazon that certain codes for the game expired in 2010. I don't want to order it and then find out later I can no longer get the items because any codes have expired.

Here's a comparison of the two staves:

Final Reason:

+3 damage
+10 spellpower
+15% fire damage

Combined with other +X% fire damage items it has a very high fire damage output for fire spells.

It's also said to have the highest spellpower damage.

Winter's Breath:

+25% cold resistance
+15% cold damage
Radiates cold

There is also a staff called Wintersbreath as one word that is nearly identicle, but this one apparently does not do nature damage, and I've read that lack of nature makes it more useful against undead. This one is found on a rage demon.

Wintersbreath (different staff):
+25% cold resistance
+3 spellpower
+10% cold damage
Radiates cold

This one costs over 31 gold before Awakening, over 21 gold after.

Both Winters Breath staves are Dragonbone, while Final Reason is Silverite. I'd say it's down to if you prefer cold damage or fire damage. I always seem to favor cold damage.

Thanks for all that-but my question was more directed at whether you could still get the bonus items if you purchased the Collectors Edition at this time. Given comments I've read on Amazon about the codes expiring in 2010, without other information I'd have to assume you could no longer get Final Reason and the other items. I'd appreciate if anyone who had the Collectors Edition recently could verify that you still  could get those bonus items.

Cold damage is great, as long as you don't run into enemies that are resistant or immune to it. One thing I need to look into is whether lightning damage from a staff drains stamina just like lightning spells do. You only have a few enemies resistant to lightning damage.

Oh, I misunderstood. Sorry about that. Initially I had thought you were torn between the staves. :P I did find this thread on our forums via Google, but I'm not sure how much has changed since then. On the other hand, Eurogamer reported that Bioware said they won't. I suppose just one confirmation from a PS3er will help. I bought the Ultimate upgrade through Origin's client, so I couldn't tell you how things are with a PS3. I only know that I got all the stuffs.

for some reason i can only post in scuttlebutt these days,

so i reply on the dagger question here:

Before patch 1.04 or whatever it was, i was able to loot Ignacio's dagger from his corpse,

and it has rather formidable stats

Dagger question? He asked about DLC. You could PM the person who asked the original question. :)

As for not posting elsewhere, you don't show any badges that prove you own the games. Sounds like an account sync issue. It should work automatically if you've logged in and played the games, even with manually adding the games in and choosing the launcher. I did that with DA2 since I bought it outside Origin.

Thanks. those links were useful.

You might try and see if you still have the  copies of the games so you can register them. I don't know what the current process is for registering your games, but surely the BSN help forum could give you some directions.

i gave all the games, boxes, DVD's & CD's to a friend when i moved to another country,

i never played online IIRC.

I had another look and saw it was another member asking about daggers to which Mike responded :alien:

Order another copy of the game and register it. That should be sufficient for you to be able to comment on all the forums as long as you still have a computer/console to play it. At least I think so.
