Lack of spare ammo is the main issue with this weapon for me. And why I think it's pretty great on Batarian with Thermal Clip Gear and stability consumable. But I still try to fire it out of scope to reduce it's stability issue. ... Which reminds me, does this weapon lose any accuracy when not scoped a la a typical shotgun? Something I haven't been able to figure out yet. ... SOMONE LIGHT UP THE CYONAN SIGNAL!!!

I use it on my Krogan Soldier with incendiary ammo. Works nicely. I don't use any stability mods though, I compensate that myself. Means I can only use it on medium range but my Krogan doesn't mind.

It is a pretty decent support rifle...although im wary when i see others in the lobby with it...seems to be the weapon-of-choice for missile glitchers

It is actually really fun using it on the TGI because of the cloak glitch with it (cloak while already firing, and it won't break cloak until you stop firing and start again). Not bad on the Turian soldier with marksman either.

Krentinel with cryo ammo and incinerate specced for chill. Great for prestaggering melee targets, especially phantoms. Cerberus in particular gets victimized by this guy.

Every time I use it I equip ext mag/barrel and will put on consumables ( Incid Ammo) Before I search for a game. Everytime I get at least 1 red X from randoms or if they have a mic I alway's hear.. " Come on bro, seriously? You realize this is Gold right? That's probably how you got your N7 rank and challenge points so high, F'ng cheater"
Yeah, me too! I too remember someone telling me over the mic that the Striker isn't that good and shouldn't be using it.

Shotguns have less accuracy when unzoomed and more accuracy when zoomed.

^ then I barely notice it for standard shotguns when I tested shoots against a wall. So it must be a very small difference. But, this puzzled me when I read your reply to my topic just now too. So will test again and look more carefully next time I play with a shotgun (not very often). (And not that I'm not taking your word for it, just want to see why I was so easly fooled into this)

You can notice it clearly if you aren't close enough to press your nose against the wall. Take a few steps back and you'll see the spread of unzoomed shots.

Try the Graal or Raider, if you can't see the difference there then you're legally blind. ![]()

The Graal is quite different from normal shotguns, and I've noticed the difference for this weapon. As for the Raider, I always play that weapon point blank anyway.

IIRC when Dunvi was looking at shotgun patterns a couple years back, the decal generation wasn't entirely representative of where the shots actually hit the wall. Speculated that it ignored some accuracy bonuses, I don't recall if she investigated the decal generation in much more detail.
A functional test is to take a Claymore against some CATs on Gold. You will be able to one-shot them at a little further out if you zoom.

That shotguns become more accurate when you aim is obvious. The Raider and Pirhana will hit literally nothing outside of zoom unless you've already shoved them down the enemy's throat or are using them on a marksman kit. The Claymore becomes a great mid range weapon, and the Wraith almost feels as if it is firing slugs.

If I can stabilize the kick using either Salarian using this gun without using any type of stabilizing mods or gear then you should be able to figure it out on any character.
