Here're my picks.

BEST:

Every year always comes with at least one really good game that I will hold dear for years to come.

WORST:

Bullshit PR and outright patronizing developer statements, generally speaking. Too many representatives think they can get away with obvious lies or argues as if they think they're addressing children, or uneducated people.

Best

Having a game that engages you and keeps you playing for hours

Worst

Games that prioritize milking consumers more then making a good product. PR bullshit and shitty DLC practices

Pretty similar to yours OP

Best: Indie/small game devs are on the rise. Hopefully with things like Patreon and Kickstarter providing base budgets it means we can start getting new and fresh ideas from indie devs, because the cost - risk wont be as high for them as it will AAA. If it doesn't work out, it's only a couple hundred grand loss rather than a quarter billion and people will still take risks and try new things.

Worst: Indie/small game devs are on the rise. Not everyone is meant to make vidya.

Best: There is always one game that I seem to enjoy.

Worst: The actual working conditions for the majority of the employees. They are horrible.

Best: Being a member of the Glorious PC Master Race.

Worst: Plebeian console ports.

Best: Being a PC gamer running games at 1080p@60fps since 2011 while PS4 users crave for a 1080p@60fps remasters

Worst: Getting awful PC ports for every AAA multiplat title since forever. Why doesn't "M" bring up a map!? Why can't "J" access the journal. Why does Space do everything?

'Pre-Alpha' footage. The word has literally no meaning.

The best bits is that the people who work on these things usually care enough to make them. With the same skill set many people have in the industry, they could be making a killing in other fields.

Best

The developers who make these things happen

Worst

The psychotic fans who demand everything be catered to them and act like brats or the reverse ones which make apologies for everything ever.

If you guys want developers to cater to PC players maybe the "master race" should try buying more games.

For example Project Cars sold 1 million copies but only 160,000 on Steam. It is of course also up on torrent sites...

Well, don't blame me.

I pre-ordered mine but I'm still too preoccupied with this year's GT Academy to play it. After that, I'll take a break from Gran Turismo 6 and do some sweet 120 FPS racing in Project CARS.

Yeah, try that on your PS4 or Xbox One.

I'm perfectly fine with not being the master race, if being the master race means having to buy racing games.

Best : It is probably the most convenient time to get into game development. The tools and material is very accessible as compared to the previous years.

Worst : Implementation. People these days would rather churn out a shitty product with the idea of "fixing it later." It is done so many times it is considered a norm. Previously we would play games and expect them to work because there was no standard patching system for the console games. These days it is even advisable to not buy a game in the first months.

Best: Potential to be more personally rewarding and interactive than any other media

Worst: Seemingly more market driven than other media. Sure, films go through "focus group" sessions from time to time, but games are almost dictated by this. It's considered ballsy to be creative in a vacuum.
