I think the worst thing is crunch time, forcing developers to work 15 hour shifts to hit the deadline.

The best imo is how much closer to fans developers are compared to books and movies.

Best: DLC, Microtransactions, False advertising, downgrades, season passes over $30, COD and AC every year, Capcom domestically abusing Megaman, DRM, JNCO Jeans.

Worst: Five Nights at Freddies, Fez.

You need to add Fez to best. Phil Fish is a crock of shite.

Agreed. Fez is a damn fun game.

Fish, however is a poster boy for the cultural tumor known as "hipster d0uche-bags"

Best:

- Nintendo continues to make no sense and does whatever it wants. They're like the cooky grandma that everyone loves but sometimes says things that make you shake your head. Also CANDY!

- We are experiencing a Renaissance in games thanks to indie-groups and some policy changes with other companies. Old games are acquiring spiritual successors (Yooka-Laylee, Mighty 09, ), sequels to well-loved games are coming (XCOM2, Fallout 4), and all and all things look to be much happier these coming years. But we'll see.

-

Worst:

- We've jumped away from the Zombie Genre of games and are now diving into the Survival genre en mass. . .AKA the 'let's be jerks to other players' genre. While not bad in and of itself, it's become the next 'big thing' that people are all jumping in on.

- More lane pushers.

- There's still a lot of hooplah about micro-transactions, DLC, Battle Packs, ETC. It doesn't help that there's the whole 'nickel and dime' policy some groups seem to have. But this all one big can of worms in and of itself.

- I'll be back to fill more of this out.

Best: Awesome games every year!

Worst: DLC that should've been in the main game on day one to begin with, mandatory microtransactions, false screenshots, Gabe Newell hyping up HL3 with troll nonsense lol, BioWare's promises with regards to Mass Effect 3 (but hey, it was a pretty good game overall, so no biggie), Jack Tretton in an interview throwing his microphone off a building (really Jack?), and the shutting down of Radical Entertainment.
