Hello there. Been playing Bioware games and Dragon Age games for years. Enjoyed Inquisition a lot except it was heavy on the collecting side so as the title says, does anything transfer over if you beat the game? This is probably one of the few games Bioware has made that I really don't want to play again because of all the collections in the game. I really want to play it more than once but dread collecting things from scratch all over again.

Your familiarity with the game transfers over.  That's it, I'm afraid.

Yeah, I know.  I wish they had a Game+ mode, or a structure like Diablo's, where you get kicked up a notch in difficulty, and you play again with your stuff and character developments.  Not to be.

Damn not even those blasted mosaics? I shouldn't tease the mosaic's, the shards bothered me more I think. :P

You don't have to do the mosaics or the shards, or indeed any other collection quest. There's huge amount of optional content in the game, pick and choose which bits you like and which bits you can't be bothered with.

Personally I don't bother much with the shards or at all with the regional requisitions.

I wish that at least the collectibles would (or could optionally) transfer over. That's how it works in most games I've played.

If anything did transfer over, I would hope it was optional.

I disliked how that wasn't the case in DAO and ME. NG+ shouldn't be mandatory.

i like having my Codex pages filled in each PT, i think it's a form of OCD. collecting it is a bit annoying. same goes for gear schematics for specific class. i don't think resources or gear should be transfered tho

I know borrowing anything from Japanese RPGs is sacrilege to some, but I wish more companies would follow the lead of Atlus and the Tales series. Give the player the option to carry over as much, or as little, as they want. Someone wants to just carry over Codex Entries and unlocked Specializations, done, someone wants a completely fresh file, with no extras but the bonus difficulty unlocked, done. Someone wants to carry over everything, even if it breaks the game's difficulty, done.

The only thing I dislike more than having to play NG+, is having content locked from me because I don't like to play NG+. I'll gladly play a game twice, or more, to experience as much as I can. I won't take a maxed out character through another run of the game just to get some extra bonuses though.

I'll agree with that. I also dislike content being gated behind NG+. I really liked how NWN let you import a high-level character into the beginning of the game without any gating at all.

People have been asking for NG+ since origins. The ME team implemented it on all titles, the DA team has yet to in spite of the benefits.

I'd just want the cosmetic stuff to transfer over.  Stuff like the beds, banners, thrones, drapes and decor.  I'd probably throw in the mosaics too.  The stuff that has no impact on gameplay, only for decorative purposes.

Also, maybe a starting bonus instead of a NG+?  I think it would be nice to start with an exp bonus, or a gold bonus after starting a new character if you complete the game once.  I think it would be neat to have it depend upon difficulty.  For example, have a 2.5 % bonus to exp if you beat the game on Easy; 5% on Normal and so on.  I'd be happy with just the cosmetic items though.

It's a better fit for the ME design, which has more robust scaling than DA ever has. The reason NWN worked well is that most creatures and treasures are spawned from encounter triggers, and the rest have levelling code.

I concur that carrying stuff over should be optional. I thought the ME2 replay bonuses made the game worse, and I couldn't stand the way DA:O handled specializations, though obviously you don't have to use them.

Oh boy the Golden Nug in this weeks patch may save the day!

"We’ve also added the ability for players to consolidate account bound collectibles across games with a newly added Golden Nug statue located in Skyhold and Haven. With it, you can access your herb seeds, crafting schematics, mounts, Skyhold decorations, and potion recipes across your online saves of the same platform. Just touch the statue with your post-game character to get access to this feature. The Golden Nug becomes available if one or more of the characters on your account have completed the game at least once."

At first I thought it also, bought everything at Emporium, but ..... what about fun? if we can have everything almost from the beginning, there is no fun anymore.

It is up to you whether to use the golden nug or not.

I never found finding schematics fun. It took around 10 hours in my first play through to find all T3 weapons and armor and I swore off replaying the game with other characters because of how boring it was. So to find them all instantly available makes me very very very grateful.

What I'd like to know is, if I go buy stuff at the emporium, use the nug, and then restore and buy different things at the emporium, will they accumulate if I use the nug again? :)
