I have the same problem these two people have on reddit: http://www.reddit.co...he_storm_coast/ "My problem is on the Storm coast. I get really bad texture pop in, mostly of the little rocks on the ground and bits of foliage. They appear constantly, about 2-3 meters in front of me. Its not game breaking or anything, but its really distracting when there's constantly rocks popping out of nowhere every time I walk forward. Any help would be awesome. I'm still going to be playing this game for a ridiculous amount of time, just wondered if someone could help me fix this. Thanks!" I looked at some youtube videos and saw that the foliage on the ground sometimes pops-in, but it's right below the character not in front of the character. Does anybody else have this foliage and rock pop-in?
What settings are you using?

I imagine it depends what platform you're playing on and your graphics settings, which is why you may be seeing differences in videos compared to how it looks for you.

It sounds like normal behavior (some vegetation and terrain detail have fairly short draw distances).

it looks like this (I just made this video)
notice how the leaves on the ground just pop-in and out real close to my character?

oh okay, if everybody has it, then I guess I shouldn't worry. Thanks! Does your game look like my video?

Your video is fine (that's the way it's always worked).

Here's a longer version.
So this is completely normal (with the leaves popping in and out so close)?

Totally normal =)
thanks!
One more question, is it normal to have my monitor go on and off when starting the game or switching worlds? I've noticed it happening when changing from the storm coast to the hinterlands for example, and when starting the game.
It's almost like the game is changing resolutions on my monitor. Going black and then on again.

That's normal (notice also how the flowers and some of the other finer vegetation springs into life as you move even though the simpler vegetation gets drawn farther away from the camera). So this is completely normal (with the leaves popping in and out so close)?
I'm not sure why they have the range set so low for those (displacement mapping is also kept close, which you'll notice with gravelly terrain in some places), but that's the way it's been since release.

I wasn't understanding what you were asking at first, because yes, this is normal. I will say, the distance between your character and the edge of the rendering field is short, but yes, this is how the game is supposed to work. A higher end graphics setting on a powerful graphics card will expand the rendering field out much further though.

I'll have to check this after work, but I'm pretty sure I don't have this issue. I will report back!
