I've noticed that my monitor goes on and off when I start the game (almost as if the game is changing the resolution), and change locations.
Is this normal behavior?

I've never had that issue. That sound strange. What resolution are you running? Have you updated your graphics drivers?

I'm running 1440p.
I have the lastest drivers (353.06), and the same thing happened with the past 2 drivers too.
I have 3 monitors running at the same time too though, so that might be it?
No other game does it, just DA:I. Weird

Maybe. Are you running DAI only through one monitor or is this one of those multiple-monitor gaming set-ups?

Just through one 1440p monitor
Sometimes when I start the game up, the resolution is automatically in 1080p. When I click the "Click to Continue" message on the main menu screen, it will go to black, minimize the window out of fullscreen, show the desktop, maximize the window, go to black, and then show the main menu screen again at the correct 2160p. The thing is, I'm playing on a 4K television set. It doesn't go into standby mode like a computer monitor would. So I can't really confirm if this occurrence causes a monitor to go off and on, but I can confirm that I am getting this occurrence in my game.
As for traveling to different maps, no I have never had this happen to me while traveling.
Had this happen to me too around release, upgraded my system shortly after which fixed it, so I don't know the cause sadly. Could be something wrong with your motherboard or a failing power supply.
I sure hope nothing is wrong with my system. No other game does this. No other issues elsewhere
Don't worry, it certainly isn't the power supply, which the monitor isn't even plugged into. If it were the power supply, the whole computer would reboot. It probably isn't the motherboard either, or else you would have a BSoD. It's the game and how it communicates with the graphics card's driver software. The programmers were far from perfect with this game. There are stability issues that cause the game to crash every now and then even on brand new computers with high end hardware. Having the screen click off and on is usually the result of the driver software redrawing the window to be fullscreen or the fullscreen view to be windowed. As for when it does this while traveling, that could just be some bug related to loading new areas, I'm not sure.

thanks. I guess it's just something I have to deal with. It's not harming my computer or anything, right?
As must we all. Whether or not it's harming your computer, I can't know for certain, but typically the screen changing resolution is normal. It's been doing that since the MSDOS days. Like whenever I fire up Doom for my Windows 95, the screen clicks off then back on.

I guess it can't be hurting much, right? I'll keep playing. It's just such a strange issue.
The game does odd things graphically. I sometimes get artifacts between loading screens, which is a genuinely frightening thing to see if you've ever melted a card before, but my temperature is good, so it has to be the game.
But actual gameplay runs fine and looks great, so I'm not worried.
Do you think I should be worried about my issue? I don't want to mess up my new rig
DAI did weird stuff to my old machine so it could well be just the game, but if the LED on your monitor is still on when shutting off it's not the monitor. My AMD card would not even support dual monitors though so my last guess would be the gfx card. You could try ethe tech support (link in forum).
yeah, the led light doesn't go off, the screen just goes black for a second. I stress tested my cards and they are all good. I think it might be a bug in the game or some incompatibility. I'll try tech support though. I just hope I'm not ruining my machine
If your temperatures are normal, then I see no reason to worry.Do you think I should be worried about my issue? I don't want to mess up my new rig

Are you sure you're getting enough power to those Titans?
Oh yeah, I have a 1500w power supply

I only asked because my card (an R9 295x2) requires 28 amps on a single 12 V rail, and that wasn't mentioned in the promotional material anywhere that I can find, so I didn't know that until after I had all my parts delivered (including the PSU, which turned out to be adequate by blind luck).
Sufficient wattage is an easy standard to meet, because everything uses watts to describe power requirements. But some hardware has more specific requirements than that. 500W (the power requirement for my card) is something basically any 1000W PSU can provide, but they don't all offer enough current.

I bought the best psu possible for these cards (I even went overkill). I got a corsair AX1500i. It's more than adequate.

After thinking about this for a while... I have to ask, does your monitor go from a green (or blue) power light to a yellow (or orange) one to indicate the standby or power saver mode?
If so then this is just a matter of the monitor clicking to standby because it doesn't sense a signal coming from the computer, and this is normal. Monitors have always been built to click to standby if no input signal is being sent to it from the computer. And as for the game, or any program that deals with fullscreen, it shuts of the output going to the monitor in order to redraw the screen resolution. Basically when it's redrawing, no one wants to see the flashes and scan lines and stretched images. Sort of like when you fast-forward a DVD it cuts out the sound because you don't want to hear high-pitched noises. So it stops sending the visual info momentarily until after it changes to the new resolution. And like I wrote, when it cuts the video the monitor automatically goes to standby.
I think that's your issue, and this is perfectly natural and harmless.

I actually fixed the issue by putting my monitors in nvidia surround and then disabling surround again. I don't know why it worked, but it did.
