What is a good way to make sure a player is who they say they are and are not using someone else's account, booting them if they are?

Also, what is the easiest way to make sure players can only log on to a PW with one account? (IE server does not allow multiple accounts and boots them if they try to log on with any other than their main).

Are there any other worthwhile security tricks of the trade someone would care to share to a newb PW builder?

Thanks!

Store NwN Account and Public CDKey associate on first connexion.

Then if I connect with the account and havent the right Key = KICK

If I use an other account with a KEY yet associated = KICK

Enjoy ;-)

Out of curiosity, why do you want to do that? I've played on servers without such a restriction and I've never noticed or heard about any related issue.

I want to make sure people will only play one character, something which is done on ALFA already, but I'm not technically sufficient enough to do it.

My way will allow you to do that, it's what we used on our module and it works well

Except if a player got many nwn2 keys, it works great.

And if a player has many keys, you can additionnaly check IP.

But if someone uses VPN + many keys, you'll can't do anything ^_^'

(Yes I had brain this far...)
