A new interview with Todd Howard. Has some new information about the game, just tidbits, but still well worth the read.
My favourite line "Fallout 4 doesn’t shy away from statistics and dice-rolling —it remains an RPG first and foremost, says Howard"
Who actualy baught anything in New Vegas or Skyrim other than Stims or potions?
I bought a lot of ammunition, for example. I had truckloads of them, just in case.
Sooo i looks like its Lyons BoS not the MidWest bunch. hmmm.
Thanks Matty.

Looks like I wont fully get my wish. Hopefully it's just not quite as insane as Fallout 3 was. Even New Vegas is significantly better(Iron Sights probably helped quite a bit).
At the very least even if they do go with a "use it to level it" skill system in the game, guns encompasses a large variety of weapons so I can just stick with my shotguns until the skill is high enough that the game wont screw me on my sniper rifle shots.
Lyons' BOS, for real?
So, we have a Vault Dweller who exists the Vault to search for his/her family and eventually encounters the Brotherhood of Steel chapter headed by a Lyons (maybe Owyn, maybe Sarah).
Ok, it's getting a bit too rehashed, even for me.
Lyons' BOS, for real?
What?
That is how I interpreted BIS' post above. That the BOS we meet in FO4 is Lyons' chapter.

That can't be. Isn't this game set at the same time as FO3? There is no way the Lyons pride can be in Boston while they are in the middle of war with both the Enclave and the super mutants.

In the article that was posted above, it was stated that the game takes place "mostly after Fallout 3"
As far as I know, they haven't said which form of the brotherhood we'll be running into in Fallout 4.

I still love his "Skyrim runs on an entirely NEW ENGINE" quote in almost every interview...

He's a man, not a god!

looks like it is Just after F3 maybe a year or two so the Capital is relitively safe and Lyons wants to solidify power ect.
Who actualy baught anything in New Vegas or Skyrim other than Stims or potions? i wound up going threw New Vegas only buying the implants and 12.7mm ammo and invisability potions and training in Skyrim.

inb4 "very small scouting group sent by Lyons to investigate Boston and needs serious help from random strangers" questlines
A lot of GRA weapons and weapon mods had to be purchased outright. They were not in drop lists. I purchased a GRA anti-materiel rifle with all three mods, as well as a 25mm APW with all mods, and those set me back a ways. Also purchased .50 Explosive rounds and 25mm HE whenever I could find them in any vendor's inventory.
I also purchased the mods outright for both the SMMG and Red Glare in Lonesome Road through the commissary system. Didn't really use the SMMG much (until I modded it), but I needed the achievement for the Red Glare. And those cost a ton! Oh, I also purchase the mods for the .45 auto pistol and .45 auto ammo, whenever I could get it. I tended to carry it (or LSitD) and the Thompson as standard kit.
So, whatever I couldn't get in drops in sufficient amounts, and it was something I wanted and/or use a lot, I usually purchased it outright; considering I had hundreds of thousands of caps by end game anyway.
Mind you this was all before I GECK-ed in those things I absolutely can't do without...so NOW I rarely purchase things.
Pftt. Flimsy anti-material rifle. You can't beat the YCS Gauss rifle. Energy weapons man...
Seriously speaking, I never bought much stuff, only weapon mods when I thought they were useful. I'm the kind of hoarder that picks up weapons from loot and dead enemies and keep using them until I find something better. Not to mention my preference for using unique gear.
"Decision-making and conversation has always been a key part of both the Elder Scrolls and Fallout. Where the games diverge is in their action, Skyrim was swords and sorcery, whereas Fallout is rickety guns and a time-stopping ability called the ‘Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System’, better known as VATS."
I laughed my ass off. Skyrim had extremely little choices and the conversations where horrible, and FO3 had a dumb downed system compared to FO1+2 and NV. Typical Bethesda game hype. Lots of buzz words, PR and empty promises.

So Bethesda wants to nullfy EVEN more possible outcomes in FO3? *sigh*

(Shouts) I don't think they can hear you over the mountains of cash they are making.

They might be making a ton of cash, but it isn't on the back of their super detailed, rich and immersive dialogue system.
No its on the back if there licence to print money.... and those pipboy things.

Making money and making a in-depth and complex conversation and choice system is not the same thing.
