I thought they were great. They felt like they had an real kick to them, and it staggered enemies wich was pretty handy.
they also ignored 50% of all damage. armor

They'll probably work better since Fallout 4 will be bringing back hit detection. Skyrim suffered a fair amount by removing it.
i hear the fallout app accidentally made 5mil in 2 weeks.
And then suddenly, after the breakout success of Fallout Shelter, Bethesda decided to cancel all its planned console games and reorient itself toward the mobile market.

Ha. 5 mil in two weeks. Probably more than The Elder Scrolls Online made in its first two weeks.
considering the number of female soldiers at Anchorage (and the PC being a vet herself) i'm pretty sure they we're at least close to gender equality
Although one of the terminal entries for the Anchorage simulation had a programmer complaining that they'd been forced to revise, embellish and white-wash what happened at Anchorage so many times, even they didn't know what the truth was anymore.
Would prefer it if they had gender equality in the military in 2077, but the 'verse has been really vague on the Pre-War state of things, like whether the fifties-esque values were still very much in effect or not? I'd assume that the Civil Rights movement also happened as it did in our timeline, but they've always been iffy on the precise details of how the fallout universe meandered from ours after the point of divergence.
(Yeah, I'm a total alt-history nerd)
It says on the TV tropes page that both protagonists are veterens.
Yeah, but tvtropes isn't always that accurate with information... I remember that during the run-up to Inquisition, the confirmation of mounts in the game lead to a claim appearing that we were getting to ride griffons in the game.
Have Bethesda officially confirmed that both male and female PC were in the military? I know that the demo has them mentioning going to a veteran's ball, but I was trying to work out whether they were going to it as civilians, as relatives of those who served, or actual veterans in their own right?

i thought that meant they made the americans look more heroic than they actually were, they totally werent slaughtering prisoners and eating their guts

Not that i know off. The leak from Kotaku says that both pc's are veterans though, atleast i think it does. Also it would explain how the character can use power armor. I think both will be veterans. Also it seems like the game starts in 2075, and then the prologue is over 2 years of events. This could be a homecoming, the pregnancy, marriage, having the child etc. This is pure speculation after Todd Howard said something about 2075.
major reveal at the end of the main story - you're not an android but you had a sex change

No.
You're an alien grand-dad that fostered many children, which are the NPCs you see in the world, and in the ultimate sacrifice you have to kill both yourself and them to recreate the world with a new un-mutant-master-race.

And then The Doctor turns Captain Jenek into a terminator and sends him back in time to kill you
You are youre own Grampaw.
Crossbow!
I hope, I hope, I hope.
I love crossbows, if they do include them I'm hoping that they'll be automatic crossbows, playing fallout with our very own Bianca would be epic.
Were the crossbows in Dawnguard any good?
They packed more punch and staggered enemies, but they weren't as fast to reload and were "noisy" so that you could goodbye to stealth-kills once you fired the first bolt, as well as it given your position away to the enemy. As much as I was hyped for them since I was playing as an Archer who used stealth a lot, I often ended up going back to my bow most of the time.
That being said, it is very satisfying to take down the Vampires with a Crossbow with the Fiery Soul Trap Enchantment on it, felt very much like I was in full vampire-hunter mode when I used that on them.

Why would you side with the Dawnguard? Being a vampire alongside Serana is so much more fun.
Especially with the right mods. You can have night vision, see and hear blood pumping in NPCs, flight, turn into bats, invisibility, burn in sunlight, cover the sun, etc.

Have you seen their castle? That place is disgusting.
I'm surprised you would side with the vampires at all considering your record in Dragon age.

They have poor table manners, true. But hey, you're the childe of the lord of the clan. You're vampire royalty, he says as much, and that is just awesome. "As a king is to his subjects, so you are to other vampires." You're probably the only one besides Harkon, Serana and Valerica who can iassume the Vampire Lord form.
It's as close to playing a 4th Generation I'll ever get.
Plus, Underworld.
I must say, I don't see the correlation between mages in DA and vampires in Skyrim.

Well, I just prefer steel over blood sucking.
The correlation is that you want to control mages because you find them an danger that cannot be allowed to be set loose, and here we have vampires that are much more dangerous and much more malicious then mages, and you actually side with them? It doesn't make sense to me.

That's fair.
It's more subtle and complex than that. For instance, my main reason for opposing unrestrained mage freedom is not their potential for destruction (altough that is part of it) but rather their potential for domination of the infrastructure of society thus leading to economical domination thus leading to legal mage supremacy. Think of magic being used as we use electricity. No chance of that happening with vampires (unless there is some piece of lore I'm missing).
Besides, vampires aren't born, they're made.
And vampires are cool, mages are lame. (a bit of an odd position since the Vampire Lord is the mage to the Werewolf warrior but there you have it)

Excuse me!

Who are you calling lame?
Well, your fears of mages sound a lot like Harkon's plan. He wanted to create an vampire supremacy by using the bow to block the sun, turning the non vampires in Tamriel into cattle.
Did I click into the wrong thread?...looks like a full on mage vs. vampire war going on? This is FO4, right? ![]()
The Brotherhood of Steel should wipe out the vampires and mages, imo.

That does sound pretty cool, actually.

Okay but I keep my MAGES., you can wipe out the mages.
And vampires.
Oh god I just remembered the hematophages in Fallout 3.
Yeah, I just finished that quest recently in FO3. Kooks. Just take your blood packs and go. My PC's overall kind nature really does have limits.
